SHIMMER WEEKEND BEGINS!

Another hectic SHIMMER weekend has begun for our entire crew, but it promises to be a whole lot of fun when all is said and done.

Thursday night we began setup at the venue to prepare for Saturday's taping and made sure the lighting and everything with the entranceway was set for the show. A big thanks to Danny Daniels, and especially Dan Lawrence for all of their help in making these SHIMMER shows come to fruition. The whole AAW staff does so much to help the live tapings come together.

"The Jezebel" Eden Black arrived in Chicago this morning, along with her new fiancee and fellow wrestler J.P. Monroe, who came along for some moral support on Jez's first trip to the States. As we typically do before SHIMMER shows, between the time doors open (3pm) and bell time (4pm), we will have a few men's dark matches (which we like to call SPARKLE) featuring some of the wrestlers from AAW. J.P. will be a part of the SPARKLE matches, and thus will make his American debut on Saturday as well.

Once they got settled at the hotel, I spent about 30 minutes on the phone with Bryan Alvarez of www.f4wonline.com for an interview which is part of today's edition of the Figure Four Daily audio show. The show is available to listen to online right now if you are a subscriber to his site. We discussed Saturday's taping, the forthcoming title tournament on June 1st & 2nd, the possibility of some international talent being added to SHIMMER in the future, and discussed some of the recent Ring of Honor happenings as well.

Several other wrestlers will also be arriving here in the Windy City later this evening to get a full night's rest before tomorrow's taping. We're all very excited (or in the words of Death Ray, STOKED) for Saturday. Thanks to all of you who purchased tickets during the past few weeks, we've already exceeded the total attendance of the Volumes 7 & 8 taping, just with advance ticket sales. If you're planning to attend, and don't have tickets yet, have no fear... we will have plenty available at the door tomorrow afternoon. Again, doors will open at 3pm.

I'll try to post here in this thread whenever I get the opportunity to hop online during the course of the weekend. We're less than 24 hours away from live SHIMMER action here in Chicago!

SHIMMER - WOMEN ATHLETES returns to live action this Saturday, April 7, 2007, with another huge double DVD taping at the Eagles Club (6309 26th Street) in Berwyn, IL, just outside Chicago. Bell time for the taping is 4pm. Doors will open at 3pm. Volumes 9 & 10 of the SHIMMER DVD series will be filmed during the course of the event!

General admission tickets will be available at the door on the day of the event, at a cost of $15. Directions to the venue can be found here...

TITLE TOURNEY ANNOUNCED! TIX ON SALE THIS SATURDAY!

SHIMMER - WOMEN ATHLETES is proud to announce a two night, sixteen woman, single elimination tournament to crown the SHIMMER Champion! It will take place on Friday & Saturday, June 1st & 2nd, 2007, at the Eagles Club (6309 26th Street) in Berwyn, IL!

The opening rounds of the tournament will take place on Friday night, June 1st, with the remainder of the tournament bouts to be held during the afternoon on Saturday, June 2nd. We will then tape another DVD release after intermission Saturday evening, before the weekend of taping comes to a close.

Front row reserved tickets for the two days worth of taping will only be available as a pair, for both nights (single night tickets will be available, but only in general admission). The front row reserved two night ticket packages will go on sale THIS SATURDAY, 4/7, at the SHIMMER Volumes 9 & 10 taping at the Eagles Club. Front row tickets for the entire weekend's events will be available at a cost of $40, covering the two nights. General admission tickets will be made available at a later date (all we are putting on sale this Saturday are the two night front row reserved ticket packages). If any front row reserved ticket packages are left after the 4/7 taping, they will be available for purchase online the morning of Monday, 4/9.

Wrestling fans around the world have witnessed the skills of each of the individual amazing woman athletes who compete in the SHIMMER ranks via following our DVD series thus far. You've come to know what each of the wrestlers bring to the table through their various outings since SHIMMER's inception.
