[R5] The Waste w/ Detsruction * Job For A Cowboy w/ Acacia Strain * Over It !

Hellos !
Thanks to all who came out for our double header yesterday on Superbowl Sunday. Almost two sold out shows back to back and the staff huddled around a laptop with an internet feed of the game. Fun! This week we have three shows - including what will no doubt be one of the most fun of 2007 - Tonight (tuesday feb 7th) European metal legends - DESTRUCTION (the slayer of europe) will be playing alongside boogie-board-thrash kings MUNICIPAL WASTE. Philadelphia is the cheapest show on this entire tour, with tickets often surpassing $20+. As always - we keep do it for cheap, tickets are only $10 in advance ($12 at the door). And yes there will be tickets at the door (no it's not sold out)

Two of the new'er (and dare we say much better) metal core bands - JOB FOR A COWBOY and THE ACACIA STRAIN hit the church on Thursday (feb 8th) along with See You Next Tuesday, Psyopus and Daath. Advance tickets are starting to move quickly (especially these last few days) but we anticipate there being plenty of tickets at the door.

This week we have a bunch of new shows including two special shows in conjunction with Space 1026's instillation at The Institute Of Contemporary Art. Check the news item below to see the amazing setting that ESPERS w/ DANIEL HIGGS (thu feb 14th) and PLASTIC LITTLE and SWEATHEART (thu feb 28th) will be playing next to. The best part is : each of these shows is only $1 (+1 .75 ticket surcharge) . Advance tickets have been on sale since last week (check our news/blog for daily updates!) and have been moving fast. Right now there are only a few dozen left for the Espers show - so jump on that quick !

Other new show additions include hardcore heroes : MADBALL with ALL OUT WAR (sat feb 24th) and new school hardcore kingpins COMEBACK KID with IT DIES TODAY (wed march 21st) . We also have the first philly show for the new piece lineup of HELLA (sun april 1st) as well as the return of longtime R5 favorite - XIU XIU who we describe as "gloomy pants"

That's all for this week. Check down below for our complete listing of shows through the first week of April as well as a lunch party for our good friends at DAYDREAMER - a new magazine coming out of Philly about younger folk doing what they love do. We think it's the bees knees - seriously. Check them out at : http://www.myspace.com/daydreamermag

Our friends just started a great new magazine that will be based out of Philly! They'll be having a launch party (with free booze - i think!) later this month at The Institute of Contemporary Art (right before our Plastic Little show there). Check it !

Daydreamer Mag is a Philly-based, quarterly magazine that is piloting in 2007 for one year. Did you know that 96% of start-up magazines don't make it past their first year, and 94% don't make it past their second? We're hoping to have a slightly longer shelf life than that, with your support and readership.

Daydreamer is a magazine that profiles people in their 20's and 30's who have taken exceptional risks, both professional and personal, in order to make their daydreams a reality, living the lives that they want to live. We're highlighting artists, social entrepreneurs, musicians, activists, anyone who has made a sizeable impact in actively shaping the world that they daydream about. Come help us celebrate the launch with music from DJ Phillee Blunt/illvibe.net! This launch party is in conjunction with the Institute of Contemporary Art's Locally Localized Gravity exhibition.

Wednesday, February 28, 7:00pm to 9:00pm
DAYDREAMER MAGAZINE LAUNCH
At The Institute of Contemporary Art (118 S. 36th Street, Philadelphia, PA)
