CWE returns to Youngstown on 7/20 with Sabin, Hero, Claudio, Sweeney, more!

Championship Wrestling Experience presents "Culmination" on July 20!
Written by CWE Staff

Ladies and Gentlemen, we now have Mothers Day Meltdown in the books, and we are ready to move on to crown the first CWE Undisputed Champion.

So that leads us to the next event. The big one. Culmination. July 20th. This will be the semi-finals and finals of the CWE Unsiputed Title Tournament. 4 men. 1 belt.

Semi-Final Matches:

Chris Hero v Claudio Castagnoli . These men have traveled the globe together, and they know each other as well as any other two wrestlers could know each other. They have won tag team gold in virtually every promotion they competed in as a team [at the same time]. Now they will go up against each other one on one. Both men are two of the most popular wrestlers in the CWE, so it will be interesting to see who's side the fans will take.

Eddie Kingston v "Sweet n Sour" Larry Sweeney. These two as well have an extensive history together. Sweeney and Kingston trained together, but Sweeney developed a better than thou ego, and alienated most of his fellow wrestlers. They have fought since in some of the most hard hitting matches on the east coast.Kingston doesn't care what anyone thinks about him, and Sweeney seems to love the fans' disdain.

The winners of those two matches will meet to determine the first ever Championship Wrestling Experience Undisputed Champion!

But that's not all. As announced at Mother's Day Meltdown we are proud to announce:

That's right! TNA X-Division Champion Chris Sabin will be making his CWE debut July 20th against "MDogg20" Matt Cross! This should be a huge match! Cross has traveled all over the globe and taken on many opponents, but this very well might be Cross's toughest match-up to date. As soon as this announcement was made there was a rumbling of discontent. We can't say who it was at this point and time, but what we can say is that someone may be out with some interesting comments to make about this match-up.

Also, due to a confrontation backstage at Mother's Day Meltdown, which can only be seen on CWE home video, Culmination will see a long awaited one on one match between Johnny Gargano and Patrick Hayes. Both of these young guns are undefeated in CWE competition, but that will ultimately end on July 20th. This will be a man not to be forgotten.

Lastly, we have just got word that sooner rather than later we will have an opponent for the debuting bad-ass Raymond Rowe. Rowe has been on a path of destruction throughout NorthEast Ohio and Western PA over the last several years, and he is coming July 20th to begin his quest in the CWE ring!

We will have much more in the coming weeks, but for now we encourage everyone to pre order their tickets at our website www.championshipwrestlingonline.com so that they can get the best seats in the house. Front row seats are only $20, second row $15, and general admission just $10! Don't miss your chance to be part of this history making event Friday, July 20th, 2007 and the Jewish Community Center in Youngstown, Ohio!

PWU 5/19 Results: 2 Cold Scorpio, Crazy 8 News, 4 Debuts

PWU was high energy all day Saturday starting with the 2 Cold Scorpio Clinic and ending with a big announcement for “The Crazy 8” on Saturday, June 16 in front of the largest crowd since January’s “Cuffed & Caged”.

* Almost two dozen participants has the chance to learn from a rare 2 Cold Scorpio wrestling seminar, sponsored by the XFC Wrestling Academy and PWU on Saturday afternoon.

2 Cold Scorpio made Pro Wrestling Unplugged his first return to wrestling since leaving the WWE. Scorpio gave hands on instruction, building on each participants’ strengths, while working on their unique challenges. A true professional, Scorpio shared his wealth of experience with each individual. Of course, we would see more of Scorpio on Saturday night.

*In a Team P.I.T. match, ”The Complete” Pete Hunter pinned Aramis under the watchful eye of “The REAL Pitbull” Gary Wolf, after Aramis was distracted by a run-in from former PWU employee, KJ Hellfire.

XFC Wrestling Academy head trainer Gary Wolf has taken Aramis and Hunter under his wing with his "Physically Intense Training". Hunter’s power and Aramis’ quickness lead for a great match, until former employee KJ Hellfire jumped the guardrail. Hellfire grabbed the mic saying since he’s not employed by PWU, he should be voted PWU Commissioner. Distracted by Security removing KJ, Hunter used a backslide on Aramis to get the pin. Both men shook hands after the match as a sign of respect.

* PWU Women’s champion Amy Lee and Sara Del Ray (w/ Doctor Don Bootz) defeated Annie Social and April Hunter, but Lee pushed around Del Ray after the match.

Before the match, Annie Social stormed the ring to attack Amy Lee. Hunter pulled off Annie, but Lee wanted no part of April and tagged in Del Ray. After Del Ray was punished by Hunter, Amy Lee refused to tag in. Del Ray snuck in a blind tag. Social tagged in to get a piece of Amy Lee but was stopped when trying to power Lee until she reversed a double team attempt from Del Ray and Lee and hit a big double clothesline. All four women enter the ring, but when Annie tried a sunset flip, Lee used he size to squash Social for the pin. After the match, Lee said she didn’t need any help and slapped Del Ray before running off with the Mad Doctor.

* Lucky showed a new attitude, using the ropes for added leverage to pin Drew Blood.

Both men appeared even after a high flying and technical flurry until Lucky slapped Blood across the face. Drew regained the advantage, even connecting with an Arabian Press on the outside. Blood hit a series of flying kicks and stiff shots, but was met with a brutal kick to the face by Lucky. Lucky used dirty tactics, but Blood hit a brutal Reverse Snapmare Driver. After hitting Lucky with a Shining Wizard in the corner, Drew missed a top rope senton. Lucky rolled Blood up for the pin, but uses the ropes for leverage.

* Johnny Kashmere (w/ “Discount” Dewey Donovan) defeated Zach McGuire after throwing powder in McGuire’s eyes and connecting with The Cradlebreaker

Kashmere started in on the crowd saying they discriminated against him because he's not handicapped like his opponent, the deaf high flyer Zach McGuire. Johnny tried to play games with McGuire, grabbing the mic and pretending to talk. But McGuire is deaf, not stupid. McGuire took control with his Lucha and hit a moonsault to the outside on Kashmere and Donovan. After some amazing high flying from McGuire, Kashmere hits a mid-air spear. Johnny went into a bag he carried to the ring. Kashmere pulls out a Bat-a-rang, but misses! The ref sees Kashmere with another object and while trying to block him, Johnny throws powder behind the ref’s back into McGuire’s face. Kashmere connects with The Cradlebreaker for the pin.

* John House’s “House of Unplugged” re-introduced JC Ryder to PWU, but in an open challenge, was defeated by the returning Detox!

JC Ryder plugs New Jersey as the place he pumps his fists, not his own gas and issues an open challenge. What appeared to be an elderly man came from behind and pinned Ryder. As House tried to find out who it is, the man pulled latex make-up off his face to show he is actually Detox! Detox lays out John House! Detox is back in Pro Wrestling Unplugged!

* In a violent Anything Goes Street Fight, PWU Tag champions All Money Is Legal defeat The SAT.

In revenge from an attack last month, AMIL battled The SAT as they walked down the entrance way. The SAT regained control and was vicious in their assault. The SATs used chairs, tables, and the guard rails to try and take out AMIL. Joel positioned Pusha for a Superplex onto a piece of broken table, but Pusha hit a Facebuster from the top. Murda hits a Spicolli Driver through the table section on Jose. AMIL wins back some of their Pride. The SAT DDTs one security member from the apron and sends another through a table. Jose tries to tell Philadelphia what he thinks, but Joel tells him “these people don’t deserve to hear us in English”.

* The Thomasellis (Sal, Vito, and Brandon) beat Teddy Fine, TJ Cannon, and Bruce Maxwell. After the match, Cannon and Maxwell attack Fine.

Fast paced action between Sal and Vito against the debuting Maxwell and Cannon start the match. After a spinning suplex, Maxwell tagged in Teddy. Fine fended off an assault from all three Thomasellis. TJ hit a tope to the outside, followed by Maxwell with a dive. But Fine was stopped with a doubleteam flapjack. The Thomasellis doubleteam their opponents until TJ hits an Asai moonsault and tags Fine in, taking out The Thomasellis. But as all six enter the ring, the Thomaselli’s dump TJ & Bruce on their heads and finish off Fine for the pin. After The Thomasellis leave the ring celebrating, Fine, Cannon, and Maxwell help each other up, just for TJ and Bruce to turn on Fine! After a 450 and a double stomp, Drew Blood makes the save.

* Tod Gordon talks Crazy 8 - Joey Matthews, 2 Cold Scorpio, Eddie Kingston, Sunny, and The Nasty Boys will be in action on 6/16. Gordon also introduces the crowd to some of the PWU Idol contestants.

Gordon shares the news so far on The Crazy 8 - Joey Matthews, 2 Cold Scorpio, Eddie Kingston, Sunny, and The Nasty Boys will be on hand Saturday, June 16 for the biggest event in wrestling today and at the Crazy Tailg8 Party before the event!

Tod calls some of the PWU Commissioner Idol contestants to the ring, including Mike Sanz, Cyrus Phoenix from Chicago, and the well-liked, well-endowed Kitty among them.

* 2 Cold Scorpio, former PWU Heavyweight champion, pins Z-Barr after a moonsault leg drop.

The packed New Alhambra Arena welcomed back the returning legend with a standing ovation. Despite pre-match disrespect from Z-Barr, the match started respectable with true catch as catch can wrestling at its best. Z-Barr finally connects a strong style forearm, but it just spurns Scorpio on, hitting a big dropkick on Barr, sending him to the floor. The two trade stiff shots back and forth, but Z-Barr slams 2 Cold to the mat. The two trade more shots until Scorpio hits a Hurricanrana to the outside. Z-Barr uses a chair and the guardrail, but Scorpio fights back, even kicking out from a reverse DDT. They went back and forth until Scorpio hits his trademark moonsault legdrop.

* Joker was pinned by Adam Flash, despite Flash tapping while in Joker’s triangle choke

Both these two have been engaged in intense battles in recent months at PWU and want to take out their frustrations. Starting at a lightning pace, Joker sent Flash outside with a dropkick. But after going for a suicide dive, Adam Flash hit a big forearm. Flash uses every cheap tactic to gain an advantage. Joker finally stopped Flash after some stiff headbutts, then a series of suplexes. Flash reversed with an enzuigiri, but when going for a clothesline, Joker rolled him into a triangle choke. Flash rolled Joker into a three count, but Flash began tapping at the 3.

* PWU World Heavyweight champion Devon Moore vs. Trent Acid went to a no contest after interference from Johnny Kashmere, Dewey Donovan, and Detox. Gordon announces the Crazy 8 match will be The Backseat Boyz vs. Devon Moore and Detox.

Trent was accompanied by Johnny Kashmere and “Discount” Dewey Donovan. But Moore was gunning right for Acid, with the intent to beat the hell out of him. The crowd was on their feet. Acid tried to escape, but Moore threw him back to the ring. This was just a brawl. Acid is finally sent to the outside by Moore. After battling in-ring, Moore knocked Trent out again, then hit a big splash to the outside. Trent fights back to hit a powerbomb on the outside. But as Devon regains the advantage back in the ring, Kashmere jumps in and chokes Moore with a rope. Out comes Detox to make the save. The match is declared a no contest, but PWU Owner Tod Gordon comes out and says next month The Crazy 8 match will be The Backseat Boyz against Devon Moore and Detox!

FINAL RESULTS:

* "The Complete" Pete Hunter def Aramis
* "Primetime" Amy Lee and Sarah Del Rey def Annie Social and April Hunter
* Lucky def Drew Blood
* Johnny Kashmere def Zach Mcguire
* All Money Is Legal def The SAT
* The Iron Saints def TJ Cannon, Bruce Maxwell, and Teddy Fine
* Too Cold Scorpio def Z-Barr
* Adam Flash def Joker
* Devon Moore vs Trent Acid ended in a No Contest

AAW TONIGHT IN BERWYN - SHIM TIX AVAILABLE!
----------------------------------------------------------

All American Wrestling is back at the Eagles Club (6309 26th Street) in Berwyn, IL tonight, 5/19 for "Defining Moment." Below is all of the information on the card.

If you don't have your SHIMMER tickets yet for the Title Tournament double shot weekend (6/1 & 6/2), we'll have them available at intermission tonight in Berwyn!

AAW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE- 2 OUT OF 3 FALLS

MAREK BRAVE(c)
vs
JERRY LYNN

Since winning the AAW title in November of last year Marek Brave has been without a doubt the most fighting champion in the company's history. Brave has defended the belt across the midwest in recent months and continues to add prestige to the title. Last month Jerry Lynn challenged Brave to a 2 out of 3 falls match to see who the better man truly is after their previous encounters have been marred with interference and controversy. After narrowly pulling off a win against Jay Ryan in April, Marek Brave has accepted the challenge and if he can defeat a star the caliber of Jerry Lynn twice in one night it will most definitely be the defining moment of his AAW career. These two men have been in the ring before and this may be one of the most closely contested title matches in AAW history.

6 MAN TAG

ERIC PRIEST, RYAN BOZ and DAN LAWRENCE
vs
DP ASSOCIATES- BERWYN BRANCH
BJ WHITMER, TRIK DAVIS and CONRAD KENNEDY III w/ Dave Prazak

Former tag team champs Boz and Lawrence team with the current Heritage champ Eric Priest to take on one of the most dangerous stables AAW has ever seen. Boz and the "Party Danimal" have had their problems with Trik and CK3 in recent months and after Priest and BJ Whitmer locked horns last month DP assocites triple teamed "The Gold Standard". Priest has made it clear he doesn't need any friends in the lockeroom to have his back but he shares a common enemy with Boz and Lawrence as they all want to get their hands on Dave Prazak's trio in the worst way.

CHRISTIAN YORK MAKES HIS AAW DEBUT

York makes his return to the Chicagoland area for the first time in years and has an open contract for this Saturday's event. Who will step up and challenge the former ECW star?

NO DQ- GRUDGE MATCH

JAYSON REIGN
vs
CHANDLER McCLURE w/ Jim Jesus and Ms. Mattano

Jayson Reign has been waiting for months to get his hands on JJ Inc's Chandler McClure. There's no where to run now as the arrogant youngster must face Reign in a no DQ anything goes match up. Reign is sick and tired of McClure trying to make a name for himself at his expense and has promised to show the AAW fans a side of himself rarely seen. This will be an intense match up where two men mostly known for their technical wrestling skills will fight it out and try to get a win by any means neccesary.

TAG TEAM CONTENDER'S MATCH

THE MICHIGAN INVASION
TRUTH MARTINI and N8 MATTSON
vs
BRYCE BENJAMIN and SHANE HOLLISTER

The MII was stunned last month when they dropped the tag titles to the unlikely duo of Zach Gowen and Krotch. Hollister and Benjamin are in the middle of a heated rivalry with the Phoenix Twins and Joey Eastman. Neither of these teams are in the best of moods and both need a win to get back on the tag team title hunt.

6 MAN TAG

DEREK St HOLMES, "KILLER" KRIS HYBRID and BONEBREAKER BROOKS
vs
"GRINGO LOCO" TYME PAIGE, CHARLIE MANSON Jr. and TONY RICAN

St. Holmes leads his new students into battle against the lucha specialsts Paige and Manson Jr with their partner Tony Rican. Rican has had several impressive showings in pre-show matches and has been called up to the main show. St. Holmes protege's will look to finally get in the win column.

Also:

What will be the next chapter in the Danny Daniels / Tyler Black issue?

What is Joey Eastman's next move as he guides the careers of the impressive Phoenix Twins?

Jay Ryan came up short in his title match against Marek Brave. What is next for the man from Cut n Shoot, Texas?

Krotch and Nikki will be in the building. What's on the horizon for one half of the unlikely tag team champions?

Skullkrusher had the AAW fans in a frenzy last month. Who will he have his sights set on this Saturday?

Silas Young has turned his back on the AAW fans. He will be in action but may be booed out of the building.

The impressive youngster Phil Atlas will also be in action.

All this and more as the road to Scars and Stripes III contines this Saturday night. Don't miss "Defining Moment" and see why AAW is….

"Professional Wrestling Redefined".

AAW - Professional Wrestling Redefined
presents
"Defining Moment"

Saturday, May 19th
7:30pm
Berwyn Eagles Club
6309 W. 26th St.
Berwyn, IL

PRODUCTION NOTES & MORE FROM FLORIDA
----------------------------------------------------------

Entry dated 05.17.07

I'm sitting in the production studio in Tampa right now, as we work on Ring of Honor's debut pay-per-view, "Respect Is Earned." This is a very exciting, and somewhat stressful time for all of us at ROH, as well as everyone at SHIMMER. Both companies are in the midst of their own stages of growth, with ROH moving to PPV and SHIMMER holding its first double shot weekend of live events coming up on 6/1 & 6/2 in Berwyn, as well as our first live show in Florida on 7/1.

There's some positive news and some negative news regarding SHIMMER DVD production at the moment. The negative news is that, with all of the hours we're putting into working on the ROH PPV edit, as well as several ROH DVDs shot during the month of April, I'm not going to be able to sign off on the final edit of the Volume 8 DVD in time for us to have copies on the merch table on 6/1 & 6/2. I'm very picky about the editing of our DVD series, and I didn't want to rush Volume 8 through without screening the final version myself first and making any final changes. As much as I would've loved to have 8 on the table tourney weekend (we could use the merchandise money!), it just wasn't in the cards with everything we have on our plate at the moment.

Since we get actual DVDs pressed (they're not just DVD-Rs we can burn immediately), there's approximately a two week process as far as getting our order completed, plus the time it takes to ship the boxes of DVDs after they are done being made. It's looking like we'll just barely miss the tourney weekend, and Volume 8 should be available the following weekend through ROH.

On the positive side of things, we now have a separate editor that will be focusing on the SHIMMER DVD series for us. Up until now, the ROH, FIP, and SHIMMER DVD editing has been done by one individual, and obviously the ROH shows take priority over its sister companies. A big part of why SHIMMER and FIP DVD titles have been released several months after they were filmed is because the ROH workload has been so huge that it left little time to get SHIMMER and FIP projects completed. Now that we have our own editor, the SHIMMER titles will be able to be edited and released basically at our discretion.

As soon as we complete "Respect Is Earned," I'll be able to sign off on Volume 8 and get that sent off for the DVDs to be made. We'll be working on the Long Island and Edison ROH DVDs on Thursday night, and I fly back to Chicago on Friday. This Saturday, I'll be at the AAW event in Berywn at the Eagles Club (and for those interested, I will have General Admission ticket packages available at intermission at the AAW show).

Early next week, Volume 9 will begin production. Next weekend, we're back here in Tampa for two FIP events, plus production on ROH's St. Paul and Chicago DVDs. That following Monday, Danger arrives in Florida and we put the finishing touches on the edit of Volume 9 and fly out Tuesday morning. The plan is to send off Volume 9 to be made as soon as the edit is complete. Some final local promotional work in Chicago will occupy the days that follow, until Friday and Saturday in Berwyn for the title tournament.

As you can tell, it's a very busy few weeks for us, and we have a ton to get accomplished during that time period... but we're doing our best to keep giving you a product you can be proud to support.

All of the tournament participants are set for their travel and are ready to head to Chicago for 6/1 & 6/2. Additionally, several other wrestlers will be involved in non-tournament matches during the course of the weekend, including some unexpected new faces appearing for us for the very first time.

For those wondering (and I know you're going to hate me for this), we're not going to be announcing the tournament participants or bracketing officially before 6/1 arrives. As we all learned through Jazz's family emergency last taping, things do happen that wind up changing the card at the last minute, and with over 20 wrestlers all traveling to Chicago that weekend, if we are forced to make any last minute changes to the bracketing and such, we need to have that flexibility to do so on the day of the show.

For the Volumes 9 & 10 taping, you showed such faith in our product that with only one announced match, we were able to sell out the Eagles Club for the live event. Tickets for the title tourney weekend are moving just as fast with no matches announced this time, and we're very appreciative of your confidence in us to deliver.

Look for a brand new SHIMMERwrestling.com web site to launch during the next few days, and if you don't have your tickets for the title tournament weekend yet and plan on attending live, make sure you get them while they're still available. Thanks everybody!

RETAIL SHIMMER DVD BARGAINS!
----------------------------------------------------------

SHIMMER's partnership with Big Vision Entertainment has put the SHIMMER DVD series in retail stores and in the hands of casual wrestling fans around the United States.

With the recent great success of Big Vision titles "Hardcore Homecoming" and "Forever Hardcore" in retail in the United Kingdom (ranked #1 and #3 respectively for this week), there's a strong chance SHIMMER and other Big Vision pro wrestling titles will have a retail presence in the UK at some point in the future as well.

Their brief encounter ended in tears, although whose tears were shed, we cannot say. What we can tell you is this - together, the CHIKARA Commissioner and the shadowy figure known as the Kaiju Big Battel Commissioner have come to an agreement. On Sunday, May 27th, the earth-shattering beasts of Kaiju will be coming to the ECW Arena with a mind for large scale property damage and destruction. By official decree of both promotions, Dr. Cube himself must be on hand. We will have all the official details announced by Friday.

CAPW News Update 5/17: Matches added to 6/3 event!

Cleveland All Pro Wrestling News: May 17, 2007

MORE MATCHES SIGNED FOR NEXT CAPW LIVE EVENT: SUNDAY, JUNE 3!

Cleveland All-Pro Wrestling returns to the famed Turner’s Hall, located at 7325 Guthrie Ave. in Cleveland, on Sunday afternoon June 3 with “A Hot Summer Night“. Doors open at 2 p.m. for our belltime of 3 p.m. This WILL be a taping for CAPW TV on Sports Time Ohio, so bring your signs, banners, and enthusiasm, and be prepared to have your image available in nearly 3 million homes in the state of Ohio, and nationwide on select systems. Tickets are available in advance at any of our ticket outlets, and also at the door the afternoon of the event. Get ready for three solid hours of the best professional wrestling in the area: Cleveland All-Pro Wrestling.

Just added to the card this week:

CAPW Jr. Heavyweight Title Match: Super Hentai vs. Shiima Xion
Super Hentai solidified his CAPW singles career at our last live event when he defeated Zach Gowen to capture his first singles gold in Cleveland, adding this accomplishment to an extensive list of other titles he’s captured around the world. However, Hentai finds himself the central focus of an extremely competitive division. The first of many deserving challengers is “The Future of Fashion” Shiima Xion, who certainly goes back a long way with Hentai. Not only were Hentai & Shiima a short-lived tag team combination here in CAPW before choosing to pursue careers in the singles ranks, but Hentai also was instrumental in Shiima Xion’s training to become a professional wrestler some years back. It’s a case of teacher vs. student on June 3 as Xion attempts to surpass his former mentor and become Jr. Heavyweight champion.

Grudge Match: JT Lightning vs. Marion Fontaine
JT Lightning & Da Munchies have spent the past several months claiming to be the “World Six-Man Tag Team Champions” despite the fact that particular title has been defunct for the past several years. To prove their point, they’ve presented a series of trophies, medals, and alleged accomplishments that are irrational and impossible to say the least. While you often can’t take what comes out of these men’s mouths seriously, one thing that must always be taken seriously is their ability and track record inside the ring. Marion Fontaine learned that lesson the hard way, as JT & Da Munchies absolutely obliterated him with countless knife-edge chops, turning Fontaine’s chest several different shades of red and purple. A rematch has been signed, but will the “Mega Star” be able to fend off JT’s uncontrolled aggression or will one-third of the mythical tag team champions make another statement?

Da Munchies vs. Shawn Blaze & Ponyboy TJ Dynamite
Da Munchies, Dick Trimmins & Too Cool Abdul, were also very instrumental in the massacre laid into Marion Fontaine, and Fontaine’s partners in Mega Sexy, “Simply Sexy” Shawn Blaze, and the team’s newest recruit Ponyboy TJ Dynamite certainly have not forgotten it. Blaze & Dynamite attempt to extract revenge for their partner in this tag team encounter. Four men who certainly are not well-liked by CAPW fans, but have quite a bit to fight for as far as pride is concerned.

Jessica Havok’s Open Challenge
In just a short time, Jessica Havok has already proven herself to be the most dominant physically imposing female to ever enter CAPW, so much so that JT Lightning was quick to sign her as his personal bodyguard. Havok has made quick work of just about everyone she’s been in the ring with, male and female, culminating at our past show when she defeated FOUR opponents in a row, before finally succumbing to a hellacious Gore from the “War Machine” Rhino. However, not even Rhino can keep Havok down as she is back and seeking more competition. Who will step up to the plate this month? Our sources hope to have more information in the upcoming weeks.

In addition to our main event, already signed:

CAPW Heavyweight Title: Tracy Smothers vs. The Blue Meanie
It’s a feud that has been ongoing for ten years and counting, and shows no signs of letting up. The Smothers/Meanie bad blood began back in the original ECW, with Smothers representing the Full Blooded Italians (FBI) and Meanie representing the Blue World Order (bWo). After a series of unforgettable wrestling contests, as well as dance-offs, nothing was settled. The rivalry was re-ignited two years ago after a falling out between the two stemming from the aftermath of the controversial first WWE ECW One Night Stand pay-per-view. They’ve battled each other all over the US and into Europe, but never have they met for a major singles title, but June 3 in Cleveland the stakes are raised as Meanie attempts to dance his way to CAPW gold, and Smothers attempts to capture any momentum he can leading into a potential ominous encounter with Bane.

B.E.T. vs. The Clash
Tyrone Evans and Josh Emanuel have formed a very formidable and intimidating duo to add to the already stacked CAPW Tag Team Division, calling themselves B.E.T. While we’re still unsure what exactly that stands for, their track record in the ring is something that cannot be mistaken. However, B.E.T. did not count on seeing a couple of old rivals come onto the CAPW scene shortly afterward: The team of Brian Bender & Ernie Ballz, collectively known as The Clash, followed B.E.T. into CAPW and were quick to make a challenge. These teams have met several times throughout Ohio in the past, but on June 3 their feud gets taken to the next level as it will be on display in CAPW for the very first time.
Many more matches to be announced in the coming weeks!

CAPW BIGGEST SHOW EVER COMING AUGUST 5!

Traditionally, CAPW provides its biggest and best live event of the calendar year during the summer as Cleveland All-Pro Wrestling celebrates its anniversary in style. This year, however, CAPW takes it one step farther. The announcement was made official this past Sunday that on Sunday, August 5, Cleveland All-Pro Wrestling makes its debut in the Plain Dealer Pavilion, located on 2014 Sycamore Street to celebrate our anniversary with “A Night of Legends”. It’ll be the largest, most star-studded happening in Cleveland All-Pro history! Come join the record-breaking crowd that will be on hand to witness all the biggest, best, and brightest stars from wrestling’s past, present, and future.

Following a wild altercation at our last live event, the evening’s main event has already been penciled in. Should Tracy Smothers escape our June 3rd live event still CAPW Heavyweight Champion, he will finally step into the ring one-on-one against the 6’8 300+ pound unstoppable Jason Bane. Smothers has been ducking Bane’s challenge and screwing him at every opportunity, culminating at our last event when Smothers was directly responsible for Bane losing his Television Title to Conrad Kennedy III, shattering Bane’s hopes of unifying CAPW’s two top singles titles for the second time. Now, Bane will face Smothers one-on-one, and there will be nowhere for Tracy to hide, no shortcut for him to take… because the match takes place inside a 15 foot high STEEL CAGE!

Much much more will be revealed about CAPW’s Plain Dealer Pavilion debut set for August 5th. Stay posted to our CAPW Newslines as well as CAPW.net for all the updated information!

Detroit Jazz Festival Announces 28th Annual Labor Day Weekend Event

Officials Unveil Artist Lineup, Annual Festival Poster, and New Festival Elements
Festival's Theme to Honor Midwest Jazz Roots Through "Challenge" Between Detroit and Chicago

DETROIT, May 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Detroit International Jazz Festival (DJF) officials unveiled details for its 28th annual Labor Day Weekend extravaganza, which will honor the jazz roots of Detroit and Chicago through a friendly challenge between artists from each city. The '07 festival, billed as "The Rumble in the Great Lakes," will kick off Friday, August 31st, and feature Detroit's internationally-renowned jazz violinist Regina Carter and Chicago's Grammy-award winning jazz pianist and composer Herbie Hancock.
"Detroit and Chicago have produced some of the most prolific and influential jazz artists in the world," said Terri Pontremoli, DJF executive director. "We decided it was high time to highlight the musical contributions of both cities. For years, Chicago and Detroit have hosted competing jazz festivals on the same weekend, so why not have an out-and-out rumble?" Pontremoli added.
DJF officials revealed the full lineup of artists, many of whom have Chicago or Detroit ties such as Herbie Hancock, Kurt Elling (performing with the Wayne State Big Band), Mavis Staples, Otis Clay, Bettye Lavette, The Miracles, Curtis Fuller, Kenny Garrett, Ron Carter and Gerald Wilson.
"The Detroit/Chicago theme also gave us the inspiration to pull together some exciting musical projects like the 50th anniversary celebration of the great Johnny Griffin record, A Blowin' Session," Pontremoli added.
Mack Avenue artists Carl Allen and Rodney Whitaker will present a set with three tenors representing Chicago and Detroit. Nods to Motown include a performance by the Miracles, also celebrating their 50th anniversary, and a tribute to Marvin Gaye by the Michigan State University Big Band through a suite entitled "What's Goin' On?" Don Byron's performance will be centered on the music of Junior Walker.
Officials say fans can also look forward to interesting pairings such as Maria Muldauer with Jim Dapogny's Chicago Ensemble, Wendell Harrison's Chicago Connection and Steve Wood's tribute to Yusef Lateef.
There will be a heavy dose of "outsiders" as well, including Dave Brubeck, Patti Austin (who will perform her Avant Gershwin material with the Gerald Wilson Big Band), Medeski Scofield Martin & Wood, Poncho
Sanchez, Charles Tolliver, the Brubeck Brothers, Russell Malone, Bill Charlap, Stanley Jordan, Conrad Herwig and the Spanish Harlem Orchestra.
Pontremoli also introduced two new initiatives -- an annual visiting artist residency and a stage dedicated to emerging artists.
"It's a thrill to begin the artist-in-residence program with a native Detroiter who also just happens to be a MacArthur prize winner," Pontremoli says of violinist Regina Carter.
In addition to teaching at a jazz camp for middle school students under the auspices of Arts League of Michigan this summer, Ms. Carter will play in several different settings on Labor Day weekend: With her quintet, in a duo with Kenny Barron, and as a special guest with the Clayton Hamilton Jazz Orchestra. She'll also perform with students and participate in discussions in the festival's Jazz Talk Tent.
The Here and Now Stage will feature regional musicians and emerging national artists such as vocalist Sachal Vasandani, trumpeter Dominick Farinacci, 14 year-old saxophonist Grace Kelly, and vocalists Chiara Civello and Jennifer Sannon.
Based on the success of '06, the festival will again present a gospel Monday -- this year featuring Mavis Staples and Kim Burrell with Sean Jones, in addition to local gospel groups yet to be announced. Local jazz historians Jim Gallert and Lars Bjorn, buoyed by capacity attendance in the Jazz Talk Tent last year, are planning a full schedule of panels and meet-the-artist sessions. Herb Boyd, Tony Mowod and Ira Gitler will engage in discussions with national and local artists as well as other radio personalities and jazz writers.
DJF officials also announced other festival features which will include:
-- A family picnic area with daily performances of Hayes Greenfield's "Jazz-a-ma-tazz," in addition to story tellers and puppets.
-- A hip jazz garden in Campus Martius complete with tables, bars and large video screens. The video screens will play selections from the award-winning Jazz Icons series, produced by Reelin' In the Years
Productions. Detroit Jazz Fest is the exclusive site for the world premiere of the second series of vintage jazz concerts (the first set premiered at the annual International Association for Jazz Educators conference). Quincy Jones has called the series "an audio-visual treasure trove of the music that changed the world."
-- An art gallery tent will feature the Arts League of Michigan's exhibit Rock My Soul. In addition to
revealing the power-packed artist lineup and new festival features, DJF officials also unveiled one of its longstanding traditions -- the annual festival poster, this year created by Detroit rising artist Darcel Deneau.
"Darcel's beautiful piece truly captures the essence of our festival against the beautiful backdrop of Detroit," said Pontremoli. "The poster will definitely add to our promotional efforts and is sure to become a must-have as part of the wonderful collection of posters from years past."
To see a downloadable version of this year's DJF poster, please visit http://www.detroitjazzfest.com.
Festival organizers also announced the renewing of an old friendship with the Hotel Pontchartrain, the location of the revered P-Jazz series and Rapa House jam sessions of the past. Fans can look for nightly "after-hours" jam sessions, and a salsa party on Sunday night at the Pontch
-- which was announced as the official hotel of the DJF. As evidence of its commitment to strengthen the educational component of the festival, the DJF has forged partnerships with Wayne State University and Jazz @ Juilliard. The festival is sponsoring visiting artists Conrad Herwig and Sean Jones for Jazz Week at Wayne (July 23-28), and will feature a mini- residency with Juilliard jazz students on Labor Day Weekend. The Michigan School Band and Orchestra and the International Association for Jazz Education will be involved in the high school invitational.
In order to sustain the high quality of the festival and to maintain it as a free event, sponsorships are extremely important to the newly formed non- profit organization.
The festival welcomed back significant '06 sponsors such as Chase (Cadillac Square Stage), Carhartt(Pyramid Stage), Ford (Here and Now Stage) and Absopure (Waterfront Stage). Other major sponsors include MGM Casino, MotorCity Casino, Mack Avenue Records, Comcast, DTE Energy, and Big Boy. Budweiser Select is the sponsor of a pre-fest series which will take place Fridays in August at Bert's, Baker's, Cliff Bells and Memphis Smoke and feature some of Detroit's best musicians.
Wayne State University, Art Van, Aqua Fresh and Starbucks will also be sponsoring the festival this year. Both new and returning sponsors understand the value of getting their products and services before
Detroit's premier Labor Day Weekend audience, as well as supporting the 28-year tradition that creates cultural tourism for Michigan.
"It is great to see organizations step up and support one of the best free jazz festivals in the world," said Gretchen Valade, owner of Mack Avenue Records and main benefactor of the DJF.
Media sponsors in '07 include FOX 2, Detroit Newspaper Partnership, Hour Detroit Magazine, WEMU, WDET, WRCJ and Detroit Public Television.
"Detroit Jazz Fest is one of the most dynamic free jazz festivals in the world," Pontremoli added. "We plan to build on that reputation each year and are confident that this season will impress both new and old DJF
attendees -- who are among the most informed and enthusiastic jazz audiences anywhere."

Detailed SPOILERS From TNA Impact

Please credit Alan J. Wojcik of http://alanwojcik.com if used.

These are the LIVE SPOILERS from two episodes of TNA IMPACT where found out the fate of the World Heavyweight and World Tag Team championships now that NWA Executive Director Robert Trokich has pulled the NWA belts from the TNA promotion. According to a NWA source the TNA officials were informed of this decision after the annual NWA convention in October. The NWA will be holding a worldwide tournament to crown their new champion, with the first round matches taking place in the next few weeks. The “mascot” was back shooting shirts out to the fans.

Possibly we will also find out some of the people who will be in the annual King of the Mountain match to be held in Nashville at Slammiversary. David Penzer informed us that “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels challenged anyone on the roster to a “First Blood” match during hour one of Impact.

Hour one news and matches:

We were joined at the opening of the show by the new World Heavyweight champion Kurt Angle. He was wearing the new title belt which kind of looked like an old WWWF title belt but it looked good. Angle said it took him months to get here and finally he was the World Heavyweight champion after fighting Samoa Joe, Sting, Scott Steiner and Christian Cage when Sting crashed the party. Sting admitted last night the Ankle Lock was the real deal and he needed some Advil, also admitting he tapped out to Kurt Angle. Sting said he had Cage pinned before he tapped out and he felt he was the true World Heavyweight champion. That of course brought out Christian Cage and Tomko. Cage said that Sting and Angle prided themselves on doing the right thing. Cage said he also had a legitimate claim to be the World champion even after Jim Cornette’s “5-1advantage.” Cage invoked the Chris Jericho clause using the TNA rulebook as his weapon. That didn’t happen when Jim Cornette made his presence felt. Cornette said one thing was certain about the match on the PPV, Cage was pinned and wasn’t the champion. He also said Sting tapped out and he wasn’t the champion either. He took the title from Angle’s hands and said the belt wasn’t Angle’s either. Cornette said that Andrew Thomas was not the referee of record so the match result was null and void. He then verbally ran down Cage, Angle and Sting while the fans chanted for Samoa Joe. Cornette said guys like Joe and Rhino were hungrier than the trio in the ring. Ten stars (with Rhino, Joe, Sting, Cage and Sting included) in TNA would be fighting until Slammiversary to earn the right to be in the King of the Mountain match.

Mike Tenay and Don West spoke to the home viewers about what went down in the ring. Jeremy Borash came out briefly introduce Japanese legend Antonio Inoki. He said in June there would be some kind of talent exchange. “Showtime” Eric Young and the mascot were hanging out in the fans. During the first hour we only saw one backstage segment and it was at the end of the show.

(1) The Motor City Machine Guns (World X Division champion “the Future” Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) defeated Jerry Lynn & Tiger Mask IV.

Sabin also came out with a new title belt. Sabin and Lynn picked up where they left off at Sacrifice, trading high impact moves. Lynn took control with a head scissor and tagged in Tiger Mask, which sent Sabin scurrying to his corner to tag Shelley. Shelley hit a jawbreaker but it didn’t work but the double team dropkick to the back into an STO worked. Tiger Mask countered a back suplex into a enziguri but he got hit by a Sabin Acecrusher. Lynn ended up on the floor as Sabin/Shelley hit machine gun like kicks to the head of Tiger Mask before getting the pin. After the bell they attacked Lynn but it backfired as Lynn was saved by Mr. Backlund. That didn’t last long as they took over on the former champion who was saved by “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal (sporting his new t-shirt.)

(2) In a “First Blood” match, “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels defeated Raven (w/Serotonin members Havok AKA “Hotshot” Johnny Devine, Kaz AKA Frankie “the Future” Kazarian and Martyr AKA Matt Bentley)

Daniels went to use the baseball bat but Raven used his kendo stick. Raven went to end it with a screwdriver to the head but Daniels escaped. Raven called for his chair but Daniels ended up using it as a weapon. Raven got it back but Daniels hit an enziguri. Daniels’s STO onto the chair was blocked but not the DDT into the chair by Raven. Raven splintered the Kendo Stick (not one owned by Kahagas as his kendo sticks NEVER break) and tried to cut open Daniels but a crotch shot stopped that. Daniels got the shards and split open Raven to win. Shockingly Serotonin did not interfere during the match but they did save Raven from further beating. Kaz said Raven needed to be disciplined so he demanded Raven kneel. Raven obliged but when Kazarian went to hit Raven, Martyr and Havok stepped in front. I guess Frankie Kazarian is out of Serotonin.

“Showtime” Eric Young and his army of friends made their way into the Impact Zone. Young got in the ring to say he wasn’t here to party, but to give thanks to Jeff Jarrett who taught him to believe in himself and do what is right. Next he thanked the fans for their support in his battles. He claimed he was a free man but that brought out Robert Roode and Ms. Brooks. Roode said hi hearing was going because he didn’t think he heard Young right. He threatened to fire Young but he said the rules have changed since Jim Cornette threatened a lawsuit. Roode said Young needed a good attorney because he was going to sue Young for all he was worth. Young took the envelope from Roode and wiped it on his butt. Young got decked but he fought back despite Ms. Brooks’ interference. The fans chanted for Jeff Jarrett but he was not in attendance. The mascot got Roode’s attention long enough for Young to get a chair and swing but miss hitting Roode.

Tenay and West spoke to the home viewers.

(3) In a KOTM qualifier, Kurt Angle defeated “War Machine” Rhino.

This was an interesting match from bell to bell. Angle and Rhino traded side headlocks and shoulder tackles but neither got total control as one would separate from the other before hand. Rhino got control with a TKO but got two as angle slid out into the Ankle Lock but Rhino countered out into a powerslam. Rhino went for and missed the GORE and Angle hit a German Suplex. Angle took Rhino over into a rear chinlock but Rhino fought to his feet hitting a clothesline and a corner spear. A Northern Lights Suplex got Rhino a two count and so did a spinebuster. Angle went up top but Rhino met him and brought Angle down in a superplex but got two for his effort. Angle escaped a belly to belly and hit Rhino with another German suplex before the singlet came down. Rhino got out of the Olympic Slam but his GORE was stopped and Angle won via the Olympic Slam.

On screen we saw Leticia Cline get from Jim Cornette the main event of hour two would be Sting against Samoa Joe. The Steiner Brothers came in with a table and asked for a match with Team 3D. I think Cornette agreed to an in-ring confrontation of some kind.

Hour two news and matches:

No backstage promos were played for the fans to watch.

Team 3D and their new belts made their way into the Impact Zone. Ray said the word on the street was the Steiner Brothers wanted to talk so he asked them to come out. Rick and Scott obliged to a mixed reaction. Team 3D said it was an absolute pleasure to be in the ring with one of the best tag teams in history. Scott didn’t want the fans or Ray’s opinion about how great they were, he wanted to talk about the lack of legacy in 3D’s hand. Scott said they were the first WCW Tag Team champions (sort of truth) and he felt the WCW 3D was talking about was the abortion Vince McMahon forced down the fans throat. He felt the ECW “World” Tag Team titles weren’t as word wide as the Steiner’s victory for the IWGP titles while 3D never left the Bingo Hall. Scott said Team 3D beat no one. Rick Steiner pulled out a long list of team they defeated in their career and it was a long list of wrestling legends. Ray felt Rick needed to not acknowledge the defeat of the Outsiders. He said they had respect for 3D not like some punks in the business. Scott bottom-lined it by saying 3D’s legacy didn’t mean SHIT! Devon said he didn’t like the treatment they were getting for putting the Steiner’s on a pedestal. Devon said yeah the Steiner’s have beaten everyone but not 3D. Scott challenged them to a match at Slammiversary. Ray accepted and wanted the absolute best the Steiner’s had to bring.

(1) Damaja and Basham (w/Christy Hemme) defeated Kip James and Lance Hoyt.

At Sacrifice Kip got his butt kicked by Basham/Damaja and with Hoyt he looked to exact some revenge. Kip had control of Basham but a blind tag to Damaja changed that. They made several tags wearing down Kip as Hoyt could only pace the apron. Kip survived the onslaught as Hoyt got rid of Hemme. In the end with Hoyt out of the match Damaja hit Kip with an inverted atomic drop and Basham hit a leg lariat takedown to win.

(2) “The Instant Classic” Christian Cage and Tomko defeated Latin American Xchange (“Notorious 187” Homicide and Hotstuff Hernandez w/Konnan on crutches)

Cage looked a little naked without the 10 pounds of gold around his waist. Instead of locking up with Hernandez, Tomko tagged out to Cage to begin the match. It worked in the favor of LAX as they took over on Cage with double team moves until Cage could tag out to Tomko who wasn’t affected by Homicide’s punches to the head. To the shock of many the non LAX fans cheered for them as Tomko hit Homicide with a throw away slam. Konnan and Hector Guerrero were talking at ringside as Cage got a two count on Homicide. Tomko hit a running powerslam but somehow Homicide escaped defeat. Hernandez made a blind tag and hit Cage with a slingshot shoulder block and a throw away choke slam. Homicide left the ring to confront Guerrero and it allowed Cage to escape a Border Toss when Tomko kicked Hernandez in the face. That set up a Cage Frog Splash for the win. Konnan and the LAX were ready to fight Guerrero when Rhino and “Wildcat” Chris Harris came out to even the odds up. To the surprise of no one LAX retreated from danger.

(3) In a KOTM qualifier, Samoa Joe defeated Sting.

This was the one of best of the 90’s taking on arguably one of the best in current time. The fans were split as some chanted Joe’s Gonna Kill you towards the Icon even as the show was at commercial. The match went on with neither man fully containing control as Joe escaped the Scorpion Death Lock and Sting escaped the Kokina Clutch. When Joe took over with some punches “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels came to ringside. Sting missed the Stinger Splash but Joe didn’t miss an enziguri. TV came back live as Sting asked Daniels to leave ringside. Joe wasted no time in going back on the attack as Daniels stayed ringside. Joe stretched out Sting on the mat but Sting fought to his feet but ran into a leg lariat that got Joe a two count. Joe locked in a Crossface like move but Sting fought out of that too but Joe tossed him to the mat before hitting an elbow drop for two. Sting countered out of a suplex and hit the Scorpion Death Drop. Daniels argued with Andrew Thomas and he tossed the bat to Sting. But Sting refused to use it and Daniels paid him back by hitting Sting in the back. Joe hit a Samoan Drop to win.

Matches taped for Xplosion and TNA Today:

(1) Senshi defeated LAX member “Notorious 187” Homicide when he countered out of the Cop Killa into a pin. The history on this one is Homicide trained Senshi (Low Ki) at the famous Dog House on Long Island.

(2) Petey Williams and “Showtime” Eric Young defeated Motor City Machine Guns (World X Division champion “the Future” Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) when Young rolled up Shelley who tried to block Williams from hitting Sabin with the Canadian Destroyer.

Announced matches for Slammiversary:

**In the King of the Mountain match for the new World Heavyweight championship, Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe vs. 3 other people TBD on the 5/28 TV taping.

***World Tag Team champions Team 3D (Ray and Devon) vs. the Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott)

I am guessing at Sting vs. “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels based on hour two’s events.
