2007 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup Profile: Matt Cross

Please Alan J. Wojcik of http://alanwojcik.com if posted, thanks.

Matt Cross (formerly M-Dogg 20)
Height: 5’6”
Weight: 181
Hometown: Cleveland, OH
Pro Debut: August, 2001
Website/Myspace: www.MDogg20.com or www.myspace.com/dontcomehomebleeding
Tournament history: Winner of the 2007 ROE Wachau Wrestling Trophy Tournament in Vienna, Austria, NWA Upstate Tag Team tournament (September 2005), 2006 Ted Petty Invitational (lost in 2nd round to El Generico), 2006 PWG Battle of Los Angeles (lost in opening round to CIMA) 2004 Ted Petty Invitational, 2002 CZW Best of the Best Tournament, PWG Tango and Cash Tag Team Invitational, etc.
Where you have seen him: XPW, IWA-MS, CZW, Big Japan Pro Wrestling, PWG, CAPW, UWA (Canada), UIPW, JAPW, Ring of Honor (member of Resilience with Erick Stevens and formerly Austin Aries), UWF (Hermie Sadler), Wrestling Society X (w/Teddy Hart in Filth & the Fury), and MLW to name a few
Championships held: IWA Mid South Heavyweight title, XPW tag team titles (w/Josh Prohibition), Union of Independent Professional Wrestlers Heavyweight title, Cleveland All Pro Wrestling (CAPW) Tag Team titles (w/John Prohibition); CAPW Jr. Heavyweight title, UWA Hardcore Wrestling Canadian title; NWA Upstate Tag Team (w/Josh Prohibition)

Alan J. Wojcik: What does being part of the 2007 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup mean to you and did you know of Jeff before you were an entrant?

Matt Cross: I never got the opportunity to meet Mr. Peterson but I'm honored to compete in a tournament bearing his name. I think it's very special that his memory has been kept alive by such a prestigious tournament

Alan J. Wojcik: There is an X factor in this year’s event and it is the presence of Allison Danger as a competitor. If matched up with her how do you prepare for her, I mean do you wrestle her like any other competitor?

Matt Cross: As a professional wrestler you have to be prepared for anything. You'll face people with different styles, weights, strengths, languages, cultures, etc. I had the chance to meet up with Allison in France last month and she is truly a warrior in the ring. I think her presence will help the tournament remain unique.

Alan J. Wojcik: Including Allison Danger, which of the announced competitors would you like to face in the opening round and why? (Announced are Nooie Lee, Allison Danger, Sideshow, Chris Hero, Erick Stevens, “Unreal” Michael Elgin, Krazy K, T Mack, YOU, Kenny King, Sal Rinauro, Seth Delay, Billy Roc, Adam Flash, and Trik Davis)

Matt Cross: I'm ready for anyone.......except for Hulk Hogan. I've been watching him for years and nobody seems to kick out of that legdrop.........I fear it. I hope he's not a last minute entrant.

Alan J. Wojcik: For fans that might be confused when did M-Dogg 20 become Matt Cross and what led to the change in persona?

Matt Cross: I'm still MDogg20 but I just prefer to go by my real name now. MDogg20 is more of a nickname. I decided to favor Matt Cross because I felt that I had improved as a professional wrestler and wanted people to give me a fresh chance with less assumptions. The MDogg20 name is closely tied with my early years and the video games I was featured in. I wanted people to see me as a sound technical wrestler with a body to back up his ability that was still able to pull off some of the most impressive high-flying moves in the world.

Alan J. Wojcik: Doing the research for this interview it showed you as partner to and an opponent to Josh Prohibition. Is that a personal choice or the promotions and how does Josh rate as partner/opponent?

Matt Cross: Josh and I got into the wrestling business together and have been through all the twists, turns, controversy, and craziness that accompany it. We've always had a great competitive rivalry. At times it suits us to put our differences aside and team up for a greater gain. I respect his abilities and he has a great wrestling mind.

Alan J. Wojcik: If fans tuned into MTV’s Wrestling Society X they saw you team with the always controversial Teddy Hart. What was the MTV experience like and how was Teddy compared to other partners in your career like Josh Prohibition?

Matt Cross: Teddy is a character and always entertaining. Shooting WSX for MTV was an incredible experience. We got to stay in an awesome hotel in Hollywood and live like rockstars for a week. I learned a lot and it was very surreal at times. I remember filming the main event of the season finale and checking my phone right before the match started to see what time it was. It was an exploding cage, time-bomb deathmatch and it was 2am on a Thursday night. I remember thinking about all my friends and family and how they were most likely fast asleep getting ready for another work day. I sat there questioning what choices and decisions I had made in life that had lead me to enter a cage rigged with explosives in the middle of a weekday night.

Alan J. Wojcik: Your bio online shows you and Josh wrestled once for the infamous XPW. Did you feel like WSX was trying to combine XPW and ECW in their product with the backyard craze?

Matt Cross: I feel like WSX was trying to create a truly unique, contemporary, professional wrestling product like nothing ever seen before. The set, in-ring product, and gimmicks really had their finger on the pulse of today's youth and the product was fresh and innovative.

Alan J. Wojcik: In the past few months you have wrestled for both Pro Wrestling Guerilla and Ring of Honor. For fans that might not be able to buy their DVD’s, is there any way to compare them head on?

Matt Cross: I've been with PWG on and off since the very beginning even competing against Super Dragon on the promotions very first show years ago. I always have a lot of fun working PWG. Competing full-time for ROH took me years to accomplish and I'm very happy to be working with them now. It's a great time for ROH because we just did our first PPV taping and everyone is extremely excited to get the attention we deserve.

Alan J. Wojcik: While researching other JPC entries the Cleveland All Pro Wrestling promotion has come up just like in your background. What is the Cleveland wrestling scene like?

Matt Cross: Cleveland All Pro Wrestling celebrates their 14 year anniversary this coming July. Not many, if any, promotions can say they have been consistently running shows for 14 years. Not even WCW or ECW can lay a claim like that which really says a lot. I had my JPC qualifying match with CAPW which was special to me since it's been my home promotion since starting some 6 years ago.

Alan J. Wojcik: If things happen in the right circumstances you might end up facing your ROH-Resilience partner Erick Stevens. Is this something you look forward to and if so, do you face Erick like any of the other competitors?

Matt Cross: Erick and I are really coming together as a cohesive unit. We have to in order to compete with the No Remorse Corp. of Roderick Strong, Davey Richards, and Rocky Romero. Taking them down is our most important goal at the moment. That being said, I'd have no problem testing myself against him and seeing how skilled the man who I've put my trust in is. This potential match-up is just one of the many reasons I urge fans to make it to this years JPC tournament. Be sure to check me out at www.dontcomehomebleeding.com and stay up to date with all my appearances, crazy pics, merch, and random thoughts. I look forward to seeing everyone in July at the JPC!

2007 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup Profile: Nooie Lee

With new names in the 2007 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup, Alan J. Wojcik decided to take some time and introduce them to the fans. Some of these people you know from previous appearances in the JPC in tournament or non-tournament matches (Chris Hero in 2004, TJ Mack and Krazy K in 2006, Sideshow and Erick Stevens in 2004-2005), some currently work for Florida promotions (FIP, AWF, EWE, PWW, SCW, FPWA), while others will be making their debuts in the Sunshine State.

Nooie Lee

Height: 5’7”

Weight: 165

Hometown: Bangkok, Thailand

Pro Debut: 2005 CCW in Melbourne: Tag Match-w/Bam Bam Mancuso vs the Black Market (when they were the Market Crashers)

Website/Myspace: Currently don't have either (maybe I should get one)

Tournament history: Winner 2007 FPWA Best of Southern Juniors, 2007 MXPW Florida J-Cup

Where you have seen him: (Member of the Annihilators with Bam Bam Mancuso) ACW, FPWA, EWE, AWF, IWE (as part of Youth Gone Wild with Suicide), SCW Florida, D1PW and MXPW,USCW, and many more...

Championships held: ACW Cruiserweight champion (2x), FPWA Florida State Champion(Current), Daytona Pro Wrestling Cruiserweight Champion (Hack Meyers show titled: Pro-Wrestling in Daytona)-Love that show name!

Alan J. Wojcik: Were you a HS or college athlete before becoming a professional wrestler and what made you want do it for a living?

Nooie Lee: Well, I played football, and mainly baseball for 10 years, wrestled in high school, and did 1 day wrestling tournaments in college. My love for professional wrestling spawned when I moved to the United States from Thailand, I was young and knew very little of the country, I would always turn on the TV and there was pro-wrestling on, I enjoyed the athleticism and the lager than life people wrestling. At that point I wanted to be as big as those guys were, but I now know that my body type will not allow that, but then I discovered indy wrestling and they pretty much gave me hope that someday I can actually be doing this. It wasn't until I graduated HS that I made up my mind to officially pursue professional wrestling. I love the fact that wrestling is like a book, each match tells a different story, and the story is played out physically and verbally, some are concluded, and some are to be continued....it's all really suspenseful, you get comedy, action, and drama in one night. Some people read books to before they sleep, I watch professional wrestling. I respect every one in the business and I strive to be able to deliver a good story (match) to the people who watch it....

Alan J. Wojcik: How long have you been wrestling in Florida and what were you initial impressions of the different promotions listed above?

Nooie Lee: I have been actively wrestling in Florida for about 1 1/2 years, 2006 being my first really active year. Each promotion offers me something different which I am thankful for. Being a good worker requires more than just the ability to bump, it's about being well rounded and each promotion has given me a great opportunity to grow and mature to the worker I am today. I also like the locker room in all the different promotions, I have met some great people and have gotten a lot of advice that I take to heart, I strive to be like the Chasyn Rance's and the Erik Stevens, etc...hopefully one day I will be able to be at their level. It's the diversity of the locker room in each promotion that helps you become a better worker, the boys in the back, the vets, they give you advice, ideas, and theories of what you can and need to do to be better... you just can't get some things like that from just basic pro-wrestling training. Although pro-wrestling as sport is competitive...it's every promotion and every worker that makes pro-wrestling what it is to the fans...

Alan J. Wojcik: Before winning the Best of Southern Jrs. Event what did you know of the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup and its legacy?

Nooie Lee: To be honest I knew very little of Jeff Peterson himself, I learned about him and how he was a great asset to the wrestling world through conversations other workers, and then I decided to buy some Peterson Cup DVD's, and wow what a great way to pay homage and respect to someone, the Peterson Cup has great prestige and is well respected to pro-wrestling and its fans, it's an honor for me to be a part of this history making event.

Alan J. Wojcik: Do you think having already been part of a tournament this year mentally prepares you for the JPC?

Nooie Lee: Definitely, I was a part of the MXPW Florida J-Cup and the FPWA Juniors Tournament this year, and it has helped me very much...Its prepared me to be ready for everything and anything, plus I learned that if you don't get plenty of rest the night before a tournament, you're going to be mentally and physically exhausted.

Alan J. Wojcik: Two of the other announced competitors are Florida based (Sideshow & Erick Stevens.) What do you know of them and would you rather face them instead of the other national competitors in the opening round?

Nooie Lee: First let me say that I know both workers and I respect them graciously. I know Erik Stevens is a great guy, always nice to me, offers me advice, and is one hell of a worker, I am very pleased and excited to hear of his successes and it bodes well for Florida indy wrestling to have Erik Stevens be the breakout star that he is, he's worked really hard and is very deserving of his success. Congrats to Erik and best of luck with everything! As far as Sideshow goes, I met him at my first ACW event, and he is completely a class act. I respect him a lot and he has become someone I look up to and am very thankful for everything he's done for me and ACW...I've been on both sides of the fence with him, and it was great he taught me a lot and pretty much became the voice of the people when it comes to opportunity. My extreme thanks to Sideshow for everything, he gave me the chance to become a mainstay in ACW, which helped me gain ring experience to be a better worker. Like I stated earlier, Sideshow and I worked a few times and I know that him and I can put on a great match, so I wouldn't mind him in the first round, Erik Stevens, it would be a honor to work him in the first round as well I respect him a lot and I know he is, very knowledgeable and can teach me a lot in one match and I feel him and I can put on a good match, so I wouldn't mind going against him in the first round either. As far as the rest of the participants in the tournament, it would greatly be an honor to be against any of them really, I haven't been around that long but I have seen many of the participants in action and I believe that I can deliver a great match with any one of them. To sum up it's pretty much a win-win situation for me with anyone and I know this will be a great stepping stone for me. So thank you Peterson Cup Office...

Alan J. Wojcik: Having some time before the tournament to prepare, do you watch video of the other competitors or do you send scouts out to see them in person?

Nooie Lee: I watch everything myself, the only way to learn is by watching and doing, if I send a scout, I borrow his eyes and ears.

Alan J. Wojcik: This year’s event makes history with Allison Danger competing. If you face her in the tournament what would you strategy be, I mean do you wrestler her different then anyone else?

Nooie Lee: I met Allison Danger a few months ago and she is great people. This is a tournament, I expect her to bring her “A” game and if I face her in the first round I'm pretty sure she'll expect me to do the same.

Alan J. Wojcik: While doing research for this interview I found you listed with different tag team partners. Do you have one you prefer more than the other and why?

Nooie Lee: No not really, I don't prefer one over the other, we all have different styles and it’s good to be able to use every arsenal you have. Each tag partner offered something different, I like tag matches to help me become well rounded and there are different strategies you have to use in tag matches than singles. You have 2 people to deal with, and with a good partner you can get it done.

Alan J. Wojcik: In ACW you recently lost the Cruiserweight title to Austin Amadeus (who lost it to Jaison Moore.) You have faced him in other promotions in Florida along with Suicide and Legion “Freakin” Cage. Who is your favorite opponent and why?

Nooie Lee: I actually like them all, I can't really pick a favourite cause they all offered me something different, and helped me think of different ways to put on a great match. Thank you Alan for taking the time with this interview, I look forward to the Peterson Cup and thanks to everyone for giving me the opportunity.

Detailed SPOILERS From TNA Impact

Please credit Alan J. Wojcik of http://alanwojcik.com if used.

These are the LIVE SPOILERS from two episodes of TNA IMPACT where found out the fate of the World Heavyweight and World Tag Team championships now that NWA Executive Director Robert Trokich has pulled the NWA belts from the TNA promotion. According to a NWA source the TNA officials were informed of this decision after the annual NWA convention in October. The NWA will be holding a worldwide tournament to crown their new champion, with the first round matches taking place in the next few weeks. The “mascot” was back shooting shirts out to the fans.

Possibly we will also find out some of the people who will be in the annual King of the Mountain match to be held in Nashville at Slammiversary. David Penzer informed us that “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels challenged anyone on the roster to a “First Blood” match during hour one of Impact.

Hour one news and matches:

We were joined at the opening of the show by the new World Heavyweight champion Kurt Angle. He was wearing the new title belt which kind of looked like an old WWWF title belt but it looked good. Angle said it took him months to get here and finally he was the World Heavyweight champion after fighting Samoa Joe, Sting, Scott Steiner and Christian Cage when Sting crashed the party. Sting admitted last night the Ankle Lock was the real deal and he needed some Advil, also admitting he tapped out to Kurt Angle. Sting said he had Cage pinned before he tapped out and he felt he was the true World Heavyweight champion. That of course brought out Christian Cage and Tomko. Cage said that Sting and Angle prided themselves on doing the right thing. Cage said he also had a legitimate claim to be the World champion even after Jim Cornette’s “5-1advantage.” Cage invoked the Chris Jericho clause using the TNA rulebook as his weapon. That didn’t happen when Jim Cornette made his presence felt. Cornette said one thing was certain about the match on the PPV, Cage was pinned and wasn’t the champion. He also said Sting tapped out and he wasn’t the champion either. He took the title from Angle’s hands and said the belt wasn’t Angle’s either. Cornette said that Andrew Thomas was not the referee of record so the match result was null and void. He then verbally ran down Cage, Angle and Sting while the fans chanted for Samoa Joe. Cornette said guys like Joe and Rhino were hungrier than the trio in the ring. Ten stars (with Rhino, Joe, Sting, Cage and Sting included) in TNA would be fighting until Slammiversary to earn the right to be in the King of the Mountain match.

Mike Tenay and Don West spoke to the home viewers about what went down in the ring. Jeremy Borash came out briefly introduce Japanese legend Antonio Inoki. He said in June there would be some kind of talent exchange. “Showtime” Eric Young and the mascot were hanging out in the fans. During the first hour we only saw one backstage segment and it was at the end of the show.

(1) The Motor City Machine Guns (World X Division champion “the Future” Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) defeated Jerry Lynn & Tiger Mask IV.

Sabin also came out with a new title belt. Sabin and Lynn picked up where they left off at Sacrifice, trading high impact moves. Lynn took control with a head scissor and tagged in Tiger Mask, which sent Sabin scurrying to his corner to tag Shelley. Shelley hit a jawbreaker but it didn’t work but the double team dropkick to the back into an STO worked. Tiger Mask countered a back suplex into a enziguri but he got hit by a Sabin Acecrusher. Lynn ended up on the floor as Sabin/Shelley hit machine gun like kicks to the head of Tiger Mask before getting the pin. After the bell they attacked Lynn but it backfired as Lynn was saved by Mr. Backlund. That didn’t last long as they took over on the former champion who was saved by “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal (sporting his new t-shirt.)

(2) In a “First Blood” match, “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels defeated Raven (w/Serotonin members Havok AKA “Hotshot” Johnny Devine, Kaz AKA Frankie “the Future” Kazarian and Martyr AKA Matt Bentley)

Daniels went to use the baseball bat but Raven used his kendo stick. Raven went to end it with a screwdriver to the head but Daniels escaped. Raven called for his chair but Daniels ended up using it as a weapon. Raven got it back but Daniels hit an enziguri. Daniels’s STO onto the chair was blocked but not the DDT into the chair by Raven. Raven splintered the Kendo Stick (not one owned by Kahagas as his kendo sticks NEVER break) and tried to cut open Daniels but a crotch shot stopped that. Daniels got the shards and split open Raven to win. Shockingly Serotonin did not interfere during the match but they did save Raven from further beating. Kaz said Raven needed to be disciplined so he demanded Raven kneel. Raven obliged but when Kazarian went to hit Raven, Martyr and Havok stepped in front. I guess Frankie Kazarian is out of Serotonin.

“Showtime” Eric Young and his army of friends made their way into the Impact Zone. Young got in the ring to say he wasn’t here to party, but to give thanks to Jeff Jarrett who taught him to believe in himself and do what is right. Next he thanked the fans for their support in his battles. He claimed he was a free man but that brought out Robert Roode and Ms. Brooks. Roode said hi hearing was going because he didn’t think he heard Young right. He threatened to fire Young but he said the rules have changed since Jim Cornette threatened a lawsuit. Roode said Young needed a good attorney because he was going to sue Young for all he was worth. Young took the envelope from Roode and wiped it on his butt. Young got decked but he fought back despite Ms. Brooks’ interference. The fans chanted for Jeff Jarrett but he was not in attendance. The mascot got Roode’s attention long enough for Young to get a chair and swing but miss hitting Roode.

Tenay and West spoke to the home viewers.

(3) In a KOTM qualifier, Kurt Angle defeated “War Machine” Rhino.

This was an interesting match from bell to bell. Angle and Rhino traded side headlocks and shoulder tackles but neither got total control as one would separate from the other before hand. Rhino got control with a TKO but got two as angle slid out into the Ankle Lock but Rhino countered out into a powerslam. Rhino went for and missed the GORE and Angle hit a German Suplex. Angle took Rhino over into a rear chinlock but Rhino fought to his feet hitting a clothesline and a corner spear. A Northern Lights Suplex got Rhino a two count and so did a spinebuster. Angle went up top but Rhino met him and brought Angle down in a superplex but got two for his effort. Angle escaped a belly to belly and hit Rhino with another German suplex before the singlet came down. Rhino got out of the Olympic Slam but his GORE was stopped and Angle won via the Olympic Slam.

On screen we saw Leticia Cline get from Jim Cornette the main event of hour two would be Sting against Samoa Joe. The Steiner Brothers came in with a table and asked for a match with Team 3D. I think Cornette agreed to an in-ring confrontation of some kind.

Hour two news and matches:

No backstage promos were played for the fans to watch.

Team 3D and their new belts made their way into the Impact Zone. Ray said the word on the street was the Steiner Brothers wanted to talk so he asked them to come out. Rick and Scott obliged to a mixed reaction. Team 3D said it was an absolute pleasure to be in the ring with one of the best tag teams in history. Scott didn’t want the fans or Ray’s opinion about how great they were, he wanted to talk about the lack of legacy in 3D’s hand. Scott said they were the first WCW Tag Team champions (sort of truth) and he felt the WCW 3D was talking about was the abortion Vince McMahon forced down the fans throat. He felt the ECW “World” Tag Team titles weren’t as word wide as the Steiner’s victory for the IWGP titles while 3D never left the Bingo Hall. Scott said Team 3D beat no one. Rick Steiner pulled out a long list of team they defeated in their career and it was a long list of wrestling legends. Ray felt Rick needed to not acknowledge the defeat of the Outsiders. He said they had respect for 3D not like some punks in the business. Scott bottom-lined it by saying 3D’s legacy didn’t mean SHIT! Devon said he didn’t like the treatment they were getting for putting the Steiner’s on a pedestal. Devon said yeah the Steiner’s have beaten everyone but not 3D. Scott challenged them to a match at Slammiversary. Ray accepted and wanted the absolute best the Steiner’s had to bring.

(1) Damaja and Basham (w/Christy Hemme) defeated Kip James and Lance Hoyt.

At Sacrifice Kip got his butt kicked by Basham/Damaja and with Hoyt he looked to exact some revenge. Kip had control of Basham but a blind tag to Damaja changed that. They made several tags wearing down Kip as Hoyt could only pace the apron. Kip survived the onslaught as Hoyt got rid of Hemme. In the end with Hoyt out of the match Damaja hit Kip with an inverted atomic drop and Basham hit a leg lariat takedown to win.

(2) “The Instant Classic” Christian Cage and Tomko defeated Latin American Xchange (“Notorious 187” Homicide and Hotstuff Hernandez w/Konnan on crutches)

Cage looked a little naked without the 10 pounds of gold around his waist. Instead of locking up with Hernandez, Tomko tagged out to Cage to begin the match. It worked in the favor of LAX as they took over on Cage with double team moves until Cage could tag out to Tomko who wasn’t affected by Homicide’s punches to the head. To the shock of many the non LAX fans cheered for them as Tomko hit Homicide with a throw away slam. Konnan and Hector Guerrero were talking at ringside as Cage got a two count on Homicide. Tomko hit a running powerslam but somehow Homicide escaped defeat. Hernandez made a blind tag and hit Cage with a slingshot shoulder block and a throw away choke slam. Homicide left the ring to confront Guerrero and it allowed Cage to escape a Border Toss when Tomko kicked Hernandez in the face. That set up a Cage Frog Splash for the win. Konnan and the LAX were ready to fight Guerrero when Rhino and “Wildcat” Chris Harris came out to even the odds up. To the surprise of no one LAX retreated from danger.

(3) In a KOTM qualifier, Samoa Joe defeated Sting.

This was the one of best of the 90’s taking on arguably one of the best in current time. The fans were split as some chanted Joe’s Gonna Kill you towards the Icon even as the show was at commercial. The match went on with neither man fully containing control as Joe escaped the Scorpion Death Lock and Sting escaped the Kokina Clutch. When Joe took over with some punches “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels came to ringside. Sting missed the Stinger Splash but Joe didn’t miss an enziguri. TV came back live as Sting asked Daniels to leave ringside. Joe wasted no time in going back on the attack as Daniels stayed ringside. Joe stretched out Sting on the mat but Sting fought to his feet but ran into a leg lariat that got Joe a two count. Joe locked in a Crossface like move but Sting fought out of that too but Joe tossed him to the mat before hitting an elbow drop for two. Sting countered out of a suplex and hit the Scorpion Death Drop. Daniels argued with Andrew Thomas and he tossed the bat to Sting. But Sting refused to use it and Daniels paid him back by hitting Sting in the back. Joe hit a Samoan Drop to win.

Matches taped for Xplosion and TNA Today:

(1) Senshi defeated LAX member “Notorious 187” Homicide when he countered out of the Cop Killa into a pin. The history on this one is Homicide trained Senshi (Low Ki) at the famous Dog House on Long Island.

(2) Petey Williams and “Showtime” Eric Young defeated Motor City Machine Guns (World X Division champion “the Future” Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) when Young rolled up Shelley who tried to block Williams from hitting Sabin with the Canadian Destroyer.

Announced matches for Slammiversary:

**In the King of the Mountain match for the new World Heavyweight championship, Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe vs. 3 other people TBD on the 5/28 TV taping.

***World Tag Team champions Team 3D (Ray and Devon) vs. the Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott)

I am guessing at Sting vs. “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels based on hour two’s events.

JPC News, Controversy at APW-GA Show Leads To 17 Competitors??

After naming Adam Flash and Kenny King to the list of qualifiers for the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup, there were still 4 spots open with 4 upcoming qualifying matches.

However, Saturday night, the office received a phone call from someone at the APW-Georgia show in Royston, Georgia which featured a 4-Way qualifying match between Seth Delay vs. Austin Creed vs. Sal Rinauro vs. Adrian Hawkins.

Apparently, Sal Rinauro and Seth Delay scored simultaneous pinfalls; Rinauro pinned Austin Creed as Seth pinned Adrian Hawkins. After talking to officials and both competitors during Intermission, it was decided and announced that Sal Rinauro AND Seth Delay have earned spots in this year's Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup.

That means coupled with Trik Davis' pinfall victory in a 4-Way tag team match on a NWA Fight Sports Midwest card; there are now 17 scheduled competitors in the 2007 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup.

Congrats to all three of these individuals as they join Chris Hero, Erick Stevens, Kenny King, Krazy K, TJ Mack, Matt Cross, Allison Danger, Nooie Lee, Adam Flash, Sideshow, Billy Roc and Michael Elgin.

The final two qualifiers are scheduled for this Saturday, May 19th.

2007 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup Profile: Sideshow

Please credit Alan J. Wojcik http://alanwojcik.com if posted, thanks.

Sideshow (formerly OG Scarface)
Height: 5’ 10”
Weight: 200
Hometown: the Psychedelic Underground
Pro Debut: 1994
Finishing Move: Double Penetration
Signature Moves: Catatonic Backbreaker, The Backiotomy, Afterhours Overdose, Foot Fetish, Top Rope Freakenstiener
Myspace: www.myspace.com/sideshow_macleod
Tournament history: Winner of WPWF Lightweight Scramble, Winner of ACW Tag Team Tournament (w/Dany Only), Finalist in ACW Cruiserweight Tournament.
Where have you seen him: ACW, IPW-Hardcore, FPWA, SCW Florida, NWA Florida, TNA, WPWF
Championships held: ACW Heavyweight, ACW Tag Team (w/Dany Only), ACW Cruiserweight, ACW Combat, FPWA Tag Team (w/Wikkid), SCW Tag Team (w/Dagon Briggs), WPWF Lightweight 3X, NNW Hardcore, and IPW-Hardcore Light Heavyweight champion.

Alan J. Wojcik: Since the last time we talked two things have changed. One is you are no longer OG Scarface, the other is the disassociation your manager with Ana Mosity. Please explain the reason for the changes.

Sideshow: OG Scarface was only the beginning of who I wanted to be as a pro wrestler. It was the early stages of my career. I developed OG when I was 15 and first broke into the business. As I evolved and matured as an athlete, I decided Sideshow was not only a symbol of how I've grown with wrestling, but also a more marketable gimmick name. When I was seventeen, I played bass for a metal band named Wet Spot. Since I was the youngest in the group and definitely the most gimmicky, the band nicknamed me Sideshow. It's stuck ever since. As far as Ana Mosity, she went her own separate way to work with a traveling Burlesque show. She pops in from time to time and makes an appearance or two. Not to mention that we've had so many differences inside and outside the ring, it's probably best that we only associate in small doses. I do, however, wish the best for her.

Alan J. Wojcik: You share something with former JPC competitor Naphtali, both of you were opponents of Jeff Peterson in his career. Please tell the readers what Jeff was like as an opponent and a friend.

Sideshow: When I first met Jeff, I underestimated him. At that time he was relatively new to the Florida wrestling scene and only 17, I believe. I ended up working him at some shit show, and had an incredibly solid match. He soon came to work for WPWF, SCW, and IPW-Hardcore. We ended up squaring off several times throughout all of those organizations. The kid had a heart of a lion; taking risks with high flying attacks and absolute charisma. Who would've thought that a kid so young could give so much to the fans and all of the boys in the back. I learned a lot from him. As far as matches, we've had some brutal ones in our time. The one that sticks out the most is the 4 way forklift ladder match we had in Crystal River for IPW-Hardcore with Naphtali (Then Al Bino) and Billy Xtreme. It was absolutely insane. Shortly after that, Jeff and I started to become closer as friends. We hung out a lot, reviewing tapes together as well as putting together new moves. We still feuded a lot, but even on nights that we were booked to fight one another, we'd still travel together to the show, usually with Naph.

Alan J. Wojcik: Sadly Jeff passed away in 2002 after a long battle with cancer. I am sure it’s hard to talk about but could you tell us your feelings when you were told he died.

Sideshow: When I found out, I was completely devastated. It didn't seem real for a while. Like Jeff would just pop up someday at a show and be like, "fooled you!" being the kind of jokester that he was. I can still remember him like it was only yesterday. In memory of Jeff, I yell out "LOW BLOW!" just as he did when he dropped a headbutt low on his opponent. I do that in almost every match.

Alan J. Wojcik: What was your reaction when the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup office made the match on an ACW show where the winner would earn a spot in the 2007 event and what went through your mind after you won?

Sideshow: You know, I've done some of the other Peterson Cup shows, but never been in the actual tournament. Truth is, I'm glad that I wasn't. I knew that I wasn't ready at the time. Even with a little previous tournament experience, Peterson Cup has always been the best of the best. I don't feel that I was the best at that time. It was always a pleasure to be on the show no matter what I was doing. The show was and is always for Jeff, not for any individual wrestler or wrestlers. Austin Amadeus, Shayne Swyft and Nick Fame who were in the qualifying match with me are all great competitors, up and coming stars in this business, but this year, they were not ready to represent ACW in this tournament and I was, plain and simple. I can see any of these three guys in the tourney on future shows, but this time it was my year. I'm in some of the best shape in my career, physically and psychologically. I've become a better rounded wrestler. I am honored and excited to represent ACW on JPC this year. And no matter what happens, if I am eliminated in the first round or win the whole tournament, I'm going to give it my all and make Jeff proud.

Alan J. Wojcik: This year’s tournament features the debut of a woman into the event, Allison Danger. Do you think this is good for the event and if you were to wrestle her, would you wrestle her like any other opponent?

Sideshow: I think that it's great for the tournament! It adds a whole new flavor on the JPC. If a woman wrestler can make that much buzz to be considered for such a prestigious show, then I say go for it. And of course I would wrestle her like any other opponent if we end up facing off. It's when you underestimate someone no matter what gender that you end up losing and hanging your head in embarrassment. If you still don't believe me, ask Amy Love if I took it easy on her when I broke her leg on an NWA-Florida show. Ask Ana Mosity how chivalrous I was when I powerbombed her through a table off the top at ACW. The answer is No! I would go into that match as I would for any other opponent in this tournament, to win!

Alan J. Wojcik: You were the first person in ACW history to hold every championship. Do you consider this an honor are you just that good in the ring?

Sideshow: A question like this deserves an honest answer. I believe it's a little bit of both. What I believe makes me the successful wrestler is that I am that I'm humble enough to understand appreciation and honor for not only each title but for the guys that I've fought to get them. Yet I feel that I have to be cocky enough to know it was done because of my in-ring ability and experience. I was just a little bit better than my opponents on those days.

Alan J. Wojcik: A few months ago you stepped away from singles work in ACW to tag with newcomer Dany Only forming the duo called Dogmatika. Why did you choose Only as your partner and how does he differ from other partners like Dagon Briggs or Shank Devlin?

Sideshow: When I met Dany Only for the first time, I noticed he had a very sarcastic sense of humor like myself. I'm a huge fan of sarcasm, so that was enough to spark my attention. The next thing that I noticed was his hunger for competition. Every time I read a press release for almost any organization, he's on the show. Green as hell at the time and he's getting booked everywhere. I started to notice his work getting better with every match in addition to his crowd response getting huge! Several months later, an ACW tag team tournament came up and I asked him to be my partner. We came up with some very innovative and fresh tag team maneuvers and just ran with it. It eventually led us to ACW tag team gold. To answer question number two, I feel that Dany and I are probably pretty evenly matched up as a team. With Dagon, we had great in ring chemistry, but since he lived in Jacksonville and I'm in the Tampa area, we never seen each other outside shows. In retrospect, Shank and I knew each other on a personal friendly level, and since I used to be only about 160lbs, he was always the power of the team. Dany and I have both kinds of chemistry. We've worked well in the ring together and are basically the same size, give or take. We've hung out and drank together, gone to see metal bands together such as Full Blown Chaos and Soulfly. We share a lot of the same interests. Hell, we both are dating bartenders that work together at the same bar. I don't believe in coincidences.

Alan J. Wojcik: You and Only had issues over the last few weeks with the team you lost the ACW Tag Team titles to, “Canadian Dream” Joshua Masters and Sedrick Strong. In your experience what makes them a team to be reckoned with in Florida wrestling?

Sideshow: Well first of all, Josh and SedErick broke into the business at about the same time. Years ago when I first got into IPW, those two tagged up then. So they've known each other for quite some time now. When you get to know someone for long enough, you begin to know what they’re thinking. Being able to be in sync like that is what makes tag teams successful. It’s important to know what's going on in your partners head to keep from making big mistakes. Yeah, they're assholes and like to use their manager, Fetish to aide them in very cheap attacks, but they are both talented athletes as well. Cedrick was in the JPC tournaments before, he's made it to the Super 8, and of course been involved in many bloody matches with guys like myself, Naphtali and Rodrick Strong. Josh has lots of experience in tag team as well as singles competition and has been quite successful in his doings. Putting two men together like this is absolutely dangerous for other tag teams in Florida. They'll take whatever steps that they feel is necessary to win matches.

Alan J. Wojcik: You have been a mainstay in Florida for years. Do you things have changed in the wrestling scene for the better or have things gotten worse since your debut?

Sideshow: Both. I think that the scene has changed for the better and for the worst. Better in a sense that the ante has upped more in the actual sport of wrestling. Most wrestlers aren't trying to just ride the success of their gimmick alone. I mean, they're still out there, but it's not just boring ass rest spot after rest spot anymore. There's a lot more action going on now. I noticed that after I made my comeback after my first shoulder surgery. Between waiting to go under the knife, to my "state paid vacation", Florida wrestling had changed. I had a lot of work to do at that point, in my attempt to mature to the modern standards. I also like the fact that there are more options for guys to be able to choose from nowadays. It used to be only the big corporations like WWE & WCW. There was ECW and other underground feds, but a lot of workers didn't know how to go about getting booked on shows outside of Florida. Their only hopes were grasping dark matches for the "Big 3." It's nice to see that a lot of guys have not only WWE and ECW to choose from. Now there's TNA and several indy promotions getting a lot of hype, such as CZW, IWA-Mid South and ROH. Everyone can have a goal now depending on their own views on what their want for themselves in this business. Me, I never wanted to go to WWE. I'm not in a stage in my life to want to be in the big time. Those years have past me. I mean, I'm only 28, but I kind of enjoy being a local superstar. I don't have a wish to be rich and famous. Not saying that I'd turn down a decent offer, but I'd rather travel doing independents. Maybe even internationally. I feel that when wrestling becomes too much of a job, you stop having fun. I'm having way too much fun now.

As far as Florida wrestling getting worse, well that's obvious. Too many promotions, too much heat. Everyone wants to be the man. Instead of everyone working together to make something a success, they compete with each other in childish manners. As soon as two guys get into one little argument (usually a booker and a worker) everyone wants to start their own shit. And instead of doing it for the wrestling scene, they do it out of spite for their own selfishness. They think that they're hurting their opponents, but in reality, it's the workers that end up suffering. I know that it is has been and always will be that way, so really what can you do?

Live Sacrifice PPV Results, New Champ??

Please credit Alan J. Wojcik of http://alanwojcik.com if used, thanks.

Happy mother’s day and welcome to the LIVE REPORT of the TNA Sacrifice PPV from Universal Studios in Orlando, FL. Special welcome to web guru Ms. Kendi and her friends from out of state. Too bad they won’t be able to cheer on The Naturals who were released. Unlike the Destination X and Lockdown PPV we didn’t see the pre-show as it was a replay of the Road to Sacrifice, hosted by Jeremy Borash and Christy Hemme. At least I think they did because Jeremy Borash came into the Impact Zone @ 735 to run down the card for the fans. Val and the new girl assisted a kangaroo character shoot t-shirts into the crowd. For what I believe is the first time ever, TNA’s website listed the exact order of the PPV matches. Note to those who chanted “Nashville Sucks,” before Orlando TNA was Nashville based and it was the Nashville crowd that got TNA on Fox Sports Net. Their fans were crushed when TNA left and you will feel the same way if TNA leaves Orlando for good. .

(1) In a three way match, World X Division champion “the Future” Chris Sabin defeated Sonjay Dutt and “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal.

Not only was Dutt’s right shoulder taped, he wore a mouth guard. During the opening minutes Sabin tired to start crap between Dutt and Lethal. It backfired and they took turns beating down the champion. At one point they dumped Sabin to the floor and a Lucha style match broke out. Dutt locked in a camel clutch and Sabin hit Lethal with a sling shot dropkick. Sabin wanted Dutt to do the same but Dutt dropkicked Sabin. The trio exchanged hard hitting moves that got the crowd on its feet but didn’t lead to a victory. Dutt went to the floor as Sabin tried to isolate Lethal but he too couldn’t pin the “Black Machismo” as Lethal fought back. Sabin went for another slingshot move but Dutt tripped him and it allowed Lethal to hit the double sledge to the floor. Dutt went back to the ring only to fly out onto the duo. Back in the ring Sabin’s top rope huricurana was blocked and Dutt went for a missile dropkick but Sabin sidestepped and Lethal got hit. Sabin recovered and hit Dutt with the Garvin Stomp (now that’s old school) and some punches. Lethal rejoined the match only be decked by a Sabin forearm which led to a leg lariat into Dutt’s face. Dutt nearly won the title after hitting Sabin with a legdrop on the ropes and hitting Lethal with a twist on the Thesz press. Sabin fired back with a double tree of woe in the corner which led to Dutt and Lethal getting kicks in their faces. Sabin hit Lethal with punches but Lethal hit a enziguri and went up for the elbow drop but Dutt broke up the pin. Dutt broke up a Lethal pin with a 450 splash but couldn’t get the pin on either man. Sabin snuck out with the title by shoving Dutt into Lethal and rolling up Dutt with a handful of ring pants. After the match Dutt and Lethal traded punches as Kevin Nash tried to be mediator. Dutt felt he had enough and kicked Nash in the back of the leg before retreating to higher ground.

Jeremy Borash spoke to Robert Roode and Ms. Brooks about the location of Eric Young and the shot at Jeff Jarrett. Roode said Young was not here and then claimed by beating Jarrett he would become a superstar and he would OWN Jarrett too. Nash called out Dutt on the mic, he said Thursday night Dutt’s ass was his. Take that as you wish. We saw backstage footage of VKM getting jumped by Basham and Damaja. They played the recap of how Jeff Jarrett went from losing the title to Sting and BFG to coming back with a plan to give back.

(2) Robert Roode (w/Ms. Brooks) defeated “King of the Mountain” Jeff Jarrett.

Amazing how these fans who booed the living crap of Jarrett now root for the founder of TNA. Roode jumped Jarrett during the introduction and the fight was on and around ringside over to the announce table. For the first time in months Jarrett looked like he was having fun in the ring as he beat Roode all over the place until Ms. Brooks brought the fight back to the floor where Roode got control after tossing Jarrett into the ring steps. With more help from Ms. Brooks choking Jarrett on the ropes. Roode kept control for several moments. Jarrett blocked a hip toss into a backslide for two but Roode got to his feet first to hit a clothesline for two. Roode’s top rope move met Jarrett’s boot instead of his upper body. Jarrett recovered to hit a power slam for two and traded sleeper holds with Roode. Roode escaped the sleeper into the Jarrett patented figure four putting the pressure on Roode who was aided by Ms. Brooks. Jarrett made the ropes but Roode kept control even mocking the Jarrett strut. Roode’s second attempt for the leg lock was countered into an inside cradle for two. Both men went for a clothesline and hit it in the middle of the ring. Both men got to their feet but Jarrett’s punches had more snap and so did the inverted atomic knee drop. Jarrett locked in the figure four and Ms. Brooks saved him by getting Andrew Thomas’ attention. Ms. Brooks took a tumble to the floor and Roode removed a turnbuckle pad which both men fought to avoid hitting. Roode dragged Jarrett to the ring post and then tossed a chair in the ring which ended up smacking him right in the head. Jarrett hit the Stroke but Brooks pulled the referee out. This time Andrew Thomas tossed Brooks out. Long enough for Roode to hit Jarrett with a chain wrapped right hand punch but not long enough to get the pin. Roode went to use Jarrett’s guitar but Thomas stopped that too. Jarrett went for the Stroke but Roode countered out and Jarrett countered into a figure four but Roode kicked Jarrett into the exposed buckle, using Jarrett’s momentum to get the pin. Roode went to use the guitar again but Jarrett got on the figure four. Brooks came back to hit Jarrett but Eric Young came out, locking her in a figure four.

Leticia Cline interviewed Team Cage about their matches tonight. Scott Steiner asked Cage where Tomko was and didn’t get a clear answer.

(3) “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels defeated “War Machine” Rhino.

Daniels continues to wear the Sting mask to the ring and carry the bat. It was obvious in the opening moments this was Rhino’s power against the technical and speed of Daniels. It was Rhino who got control with shoulder blocks and keeping it slowed down. Daniels went for a top rope move but Rhino caught him and hit a belly to belly suplex, setting up but not getting the GORE as Daniels slid out. Both men went to the floor where the punches continued and Rhino missed a plancha. Daniels used the guard rails to inflict damage to Rhino’s left arm and shoulder. Once back in the ring Daniels kept the attack going, using any move he could to do further damage to the injury. Rhino fought out of an armlock and fired in several chops with his good arm, getting a two count off a powerslam. Daniels kept on the arm with kicks and an STO for two but he couldn’t avoid a Rhino spinebuster for two. Just like Rhino couldn’t avoid Daniels who locked in the fujiarwa armbar submission. Daniels released the hold on his own and went for the BME but Rhino moved. Daniels made an error by stopping the forearms to Rhino’s head and going to the rope where Rhino hit a GORE for two. Daniels got the last move when he blasted Rhino in the head with the baseball bat to get the cover. After the match Rhino got the mic and told Daniels he didn’t come to lose or be cheated. He said he was going to kick Daniels ass. So he chased Daniels down the tunnel and when they came back up Daniels was a bloody mess after Rhino hit several chair shots (the chair had blood on it, just a guess). Rhino set up two chairs in the ring possibly for the Rhino Driver but TNA black shirt security hit the ring.

We saw a recap of Christy Hemme’s battle with the VKM and found out BG was in the hospital and Lance Hoyt wasn’t in the venue yet.

(4) Basham and Damaja (w/Christy Hemme) defeated Voodoo Kin Mafia Kip James.

Kip tried his best but in the end Damaja and Basham were too much for Kip James. Lance Hoyt came out to save Kip after the match.

A video recap played before the next match which is guaranteed to be painful. Leticia Cline spoke to “Wildcat” Chris Harris about the match, in which Harris said if Storm wanted to end AMW all he had to do was ask.

(5) In a Texas Death match, “Wildcat” Chris Harris defeated “Tennessee Cowboy” James Storm (w/ “Pride of Tennessee” Jacqueline Moore).

Funny thing about this match, to earn their jobs with TNA in 2002, Storm and Harris fought each other on a Music City Legends like show. To win you need to get a pin then have the opponent not answer a 10 count. The fight began on the floor as Harris baited Storm to come out and fight. They went into the crowd and all around the seating area which sent people running to avoid being hit. Harris grated Storm’s face on some fencing and tried to toss him off the top but Storm fought back as it led to them dragging each other around some more. Finally they came down and kept the fists a flying. Harris finally got in the ring and found one of Storm’s cold brews and had a swig before jumping off the top rope and into the crowd where Storm was just getting to hit feet. Harris got a pin but Storm beat the 10 second count, crawling back to the ring and the guard rails. Storm knocked Harris off the top and smashed his face with a chair which split open Harris. As Harris bled in the ring Storm went under the ring for a folding table and he wasn’t setting dinner up. Storm placed Harris on the turnbuckle but Harris blocked the move. Storm blocked the Scorpion Deathlock so Harris put him under the table and hit a sling shot like move which sent Storm’s head into the table, splitting him open. Storm blocked a suplex with a kick to the ribs and hit the Eye of the Storm into the folding table for the pin. Harris beat Rudy Charles’ count and the fight went was on again. Storm got another folding table from under the ring and set it up on the floor. The fight stayed in the ring as Harris escaped a power bomb into the table but not a DDT which allowed Storm to go shopping for more items at the weapons store. He pulled out a trash can and tossed it in the ring but he didn’t get in fast enough as Harris hit a spear which sent Storm crashing through the table on the floor. Moore broke up the pin attempt as Harris went to get another chair. Harris swung and missed giving Storm enough time to hit a superkick into the chair which went into the face for two. Harris absorbed several trash can shots and fired back with some of his own. By this point all of Storm’s face not covered by a beard was blood red. Moore saw an opening and went to handcuff Harris but Gail Kim came out and fought with Moore to the locker room. Storm thought he had the win with a beer bottle shot but Harris decked him first with the other bottle to get the pin and the win as Storm couldn’t get to his feet in time.

As the ring crew switched canvases, Jeremy Borash spoke to Sting about the main event. The cameras caught Christopher Daniels talking to Sting about the way Daniels had interpreted Sting’s message.

(6) In a “Four Corners” match, Jerry Lynn defeated Tiger Mask IV, Alex Shelley and Senshi

Last night Tiger Mask IV dropped the NWA World Jr. Heavyweight title to Mike Quackenbush. Senshi and Lynn began the bout trading mat moves but it went to move-counter move when Lynn hit an airplane spin-like move. Shelley tagged himself in to face Lynn after Senshi went to work on Lynn’s arm. Lynn countered several moves and tagged out to Tiger Mask. After mocking Tiger Mask, Shelley tagged in Senshi who went move for move with the legendary Japanese character. Senshi felt he needed a break so he tagged out to Lynn. Lynn was backed into the corner where Shelley tagged Tiger Mask to reenter the bout. Shelley went for a back suplex but Lynn countered out and tagged in Tiger Mask who went to work on the cocky Paparazzi member. Shelley stopped a top rope move and hit Tiger Mask with a jawbreaker. Tiger Mask returned the favor hitting Shelley with a top rope double underhook suplex. Senshi came and hit Tiger Mask with kicks as Shelley tagged out to Lynn who joined the battle. Lenny hit a spring board like move which sent Tiger Mask over but Senshi was in Tiger Mask’s waist lock hold so he got hit with a German suplex. Shelley recovered and missed a leg lariat but Lynn’s top rope move was stopped by Senshi and a kick to the head. Tiger Mask broke up a cradle piledriver and got tossed to the floor by Shelley. Shelley thought he had the win when they came off the top rope but Lynn rolled through the power bomb into a pin and the victory. But after the match Shelley and Chris Sabin attacked Lynn. He was saved by Mr. Bob Backlund who sent Sabin and Shelley in a retreat mode.

We had a video recap of how Team 3D got to the World Tag Team titles at Lockdown and who they would face tonight. Leticia spoke to Tomko about his issues with Scott Steiner, claiming Steiner thought the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor (someone has been watching National Lampoon’s Anima House.)

(7) World Tag Team champions Team 3D (Ray and Devon) defeated Tomko/“Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner and Latin American Xchange (“Notorious 187” Homicide and Hotstuff Hernandez w/Konnan on crutches)

Steiner and Homicide started out and it was not good for LAX as the strength was solely in Steiner’s favor. Ray made a blind tag and hit Steiner with a German suplex after leveling Homicide with a clothesline. Homicide tried to make peace with Steiner and for a second it worked as they attacked Ray. Ray fought back and got rid of Homicide with a kick to the face before tagging in Devon. Tomko finally tagged in to trade punches with Devon but a rope move led to a 3D powerslam. Hernandez made a blond tag and hit Tomko with a slingshot shoulder tackle but Devon hit him with the Thesz press. Homicide caught the attention of Rudy Charles and it worked long enough that Tomko/Steiner grabbed Devon’s legs and ragged his package into the ring post. LAX and Steiner/Tomko kept Devon from tagging out for several minutes but neither team could score the pin. At one point Hernandez came off the top with splash after blocking a Devon move for two. Tomko put Devon on the top rope but his move was countered into a Tornado DDT. LAX tried for a move but Devon ducked and tagged out to Ray. Actually all six men fought in the ring and the carnage was ended when Hernandez stopped 3D from getting the table. This left Steiner and Tomko with Homicide who ducked a Road Warrior clothesline, rolling up Steiner for two. Ray ended up in the ring with Steiner and Tomko but another move backfired and Tomko was hit with the 3D to see the champions retain. After the match Tomko and Steiner traded hated words and then punches which ended when “the Dogface Gremlin” Rick Steiner hit the ring and Tomko with punches!

Jeremy Borash spoke to Kurt Angle in the Sting interview area. Angle said the difference between himself and Sting was he didn’t need hocus pocus to win. He called Sting a cartoon character and the “gym teacher” was going to school Sting. A well done video package recapped the Styles/Joe saga.

(8) Samoa Joe defeated “the Phenomenal” AJ Styles.

These two picked up right where they left off several months ago, with hard hitting action. However Styles aggressive mood let Joe take control with a corner enziguri. Joe hit the back chop but Styles blocked the chest kick however Styles ended up on the floor. Joe wasted no time in hitting his tope’ to the floor which sent Styles over the guard rails. Styles blocked Joe’s suplex back in the ring but not Joe’s punches which sent Styles crashing to the floor. Joe tossed Styles into the ring as Styles claimed his shoulder came out of socket. Too bad for Joe Styles was gold bricking and he decked Joe. Joe fought back and again we went to the floor where Joe set up the Ole kick but Styles hit a discus clothesline. Styles tossed Joe in the ring where he hit a dropkick which sent sweat flying off Joes’s chest. Joe went for a move but Styles hit him in the head with a spinning heel kick for two. Joe fought back with punches and a German suplex which looked like it made Styles’ eyes got glassy for a moment. Styles ducked a Joe kick but not a release suplex, a senton bomb and powerslam for two. Styles slid of Joe’s shoulders and hit the Pele’ kick before hitting a springboard clothesline for two. Styles fought for it and finally hit the flip into the inverted DDT for two. Joe fought out of the Styles Clash and hit a DVD for two. Styles ducked a move and Joe went crashing to the floor where it looked like he injured his left knee. Somehow Joe beat Andrew Thomas’ count but his knee gave out when he went after Styles on a corner move. Styles went for and missed the Spiral Tap as Joe was gold bricking. Joe locked in the Kokina Clutch and hit the Muscle Buster to win.

A video package played highlighting the sacrifices the three men in the main event have made in their careers to get the World title in their possession. They played for the home audience some bullet points on the match before Jeremy Borash introduced the match.

(9) Kurt Angle became World Heavyweight champion when he defeated “Instant Classic” Christian Cage and Sting.

Cage’s mind games worked for a moment as Sting and Angle argued before the bell, but they joined to the goal of keeping Cage out of the ring. It worked as they beat each other up while Cage stood on the floor but Sting left Angle in the ring to get Cage. It backfired as Cage tossed Sting into the guard rail. But when Cage got in the ring he ran right into Angle. But Angle missed Cage ran into the ring post shoulder first. Cage tried to make peace with Sting but instead of turning the other cheek Sting spit in Cage’s face before attacking the champion. Sting hit Cage with a Stinger Splash but the second one was stopped by Angle who dragged Sting to the floor and hit a suplex on the rampway. Angle came back to the ring where Cage was waiting to work on the injured arm. Cage hit Angle with a move and went to the floor to keep Sting injured. Cage smacked Angle in his head and it fired up Angle who hit eight consecutive German suplexes but Cage kicked out of the pin. Sting made his way back and tossed Angle to the floor so he could cover Cage but he too got only two. Sting went for a superplex but Angle brought Sting an Cage off with a superplex of his own. The singlet came down as Angle went for the Olympic Slam but Cage countered into the Unprettier but Angle countered out. Sting sent Angle’s head into Cage’s package but Cage sent Rudy Charles to the floor. With Charles out of the match Angle locked Cage and Sting in the Ankle Lock but both men fought out. Sting dragged Charles in the ring but he walked right into Cage’s crotch shot. Sting pinned Cage but Kurt Angle made Sting tap out to the Ankle Lock. Referee Andrew Thomas only saw Sting tap out and Rudy Charles only saw Cage be pinned by Sting.

Results From ACW Revised! in New Port Richey, FL

Please credit Alan J. Wojcik of http://alanwojcik.com if used, thank you.

On Tuesday May 8th American Combat Wrestling presented REVISED! The event was held at the Bourbon Street Night Club of 4331 US 19N in New Port Richey. Former WWE superstar Luna Vachon was in attendance.

(1) 2006 King of Florida winner David Mercury defeated Ray Beez.

Beez made his way out first and was forced to sit in a corner as Mercury talked to the fans the lack of respect he has been shown by them the last few events. Finally we got to action with Mercury using his amateur skills but to everyone’s surprise Beez was able to keep pace. Mercury switched to some chain wrestling but Beez also kept pace in those exchanges. Mercury had enough and dragged Beez to the floor where he slammed Beez into a bar and his attempted piledriver was countered into a backdrop. Both men continued their fight back to the ring where referee Billy Dalton was administering the ten count. Once back in the ring Mercury ducked a move and hit a clothesline before locking a straight jacket style STF. Beez fought to his feet but got sent back to the canvas by a double sledge to the chest. Mercury tried to keep the pace slow with a rear chinlock but Beez got to his feet again, but once again Mercury knocked him down this time with a leg lariat for two. Mercury got frustrated and made an error which resulted in a Beez clothesline sending both men to the mat. Beez blocked a punch and hit a spinebuster but was unable to capitalize. Beez was ready for a straight jacket neckbreaker but Mercury countered out into an exploder like move for the win.

(2) Twizted defeated Descending Angel.

After trading armbars and wristlocks, Twizted hit a dropkick to the chest but fell to the mat on a shoulder block. Both men missed moves and we were at square one until they traded two counts. Twizted went for a move but his package came right down on Angel’s shoe. Angel followed with a Northern Lights suplex and a snap suplex for two. Twizted hit a clothesline which sent Angle to the floor where Twizted followed, only he fell right into a boot. Twizted blocked a move and tossed Angel into the ring post and dragged him back into the ring where Angel hit a flying headscissor for two. Angel hit a Code Red but somehow Twizted kicked out. Twizted recovered and won by hitting a standing shooting star press.

(3) 2007 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup competitor Nooie Lee defeated Dany Only, Naphtali and Austin Amadeus.

Amadeus and Lee began where they left off in pervious bouts with hard hitting cruiserweight moves before Naphtali tagged in to slow down Lee with a leverage move into a corner. As Lee and Naphtali wrestled David Mercury came out and talked to Amadeus which was good because Naphtali hit a 50 turn airplane spin which made both men tag out. Only went right on the attack driving Amadeus into a corner with shoulder blocks. After hitting a shoulderbreaker Only locked Amadeus in a move but Naphtali came in and locked Only in a sleeper but Lee came in and locked Naphtali in a half nelson. All the holds were broken and Amadeus scored a two count with a tackle. Naphtali tagged in to continue the punishment on Only as Mercury and Amadeus took off to the locker room. Naphtali went up top but landed on his feet and dropped the elbow onto Only. Only caught Naphtali mid-air and hit a slam for two. Only finally tagged out to Lee who came off the top landing on Naphtali’s legs. Lee hit two clotheslines and tagged in Only who helped deliver a flapjack for two. Only went for a corner move but Naphtali slid off the shoulder and hit a running boot to the face. Naphtali went for another airplane spin but Only countered into a neckbreaker and several right hand punches but his dropkick missed allowing Naphtali to hit the dreaded DVD on the 2004 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup DVD (now available online at www.RFVideo.com). Lee capitalized on this and dumped Naphtali to the floor and winning the match. After the match all hell broke loose as Only spewed green mist into Lee’s eyes and dumped Lee in the ring with several power moves. Shayne Swift tried to aid his friend but he too fell to the power of Dany Only.

Before the next match there was a small ceremony to present the current ACW champions (Cruiserweight Jaison Moore, Tag Team Sedrick Strong/Joshua Masters & Heavyweight Ralph Mosca) brand new title belts. They were presented the belts by three members of the ACW championship committee.

(4) ACW Cruiserweight champion Jaison Moore defeated Nick Fame.

Before the match fame refuted the fans chants of “He’s Gay” and other things I won’t mention if kids are reading. Once the match began it was Moore locking in moves and Fame running to the ropes trying to cause a break. Moore stopped that with a succession of clotheslines and backdrop which sent Fame to the floor. Moore joined him delivering chest chops and tossing Fame into the ring but he entered last and Fame dropped Moore’s crotch on the ropes. It did little to stop Moore but a kick to the chest took the wind out of Moore for a moment. So did a kick to the back from Fame that scored a two count. Fame placed Moore on the top buckle and tried for a superplex but it was blocked and Moore sent Fame into the ring hitting a Warrior’s Way drop on Fame’s back for two. Fame went for a move but Moore hit a belly to belly suplex into a corner. Moore hit two clotheslines and an exploder before going for and missing a Rolling Thunder to the corner. Fame went for a move but Moore countered into an STO with a Crossface submission to retain his title.

(5) ACW Tag Team champions “Canadian Dream” Joshua Masters and Sedrick Strong (w/Fetish) defeated the Power Company Twins.

With a month between shows Strong had tons to say to the fans who he felt were ungrateful to their greatness. The PCT felt they too were unappreciated by the fans of ACW and let it be known on the house mic. The PCT had Masters set in the ring for a top rope elbow drop but Fetish stopped that. The other PCT went to hit Masters with a bar stool but Strong stopped that. The PCT dumped Strong to the floor and thought they had Masters pinned but Fetish pulled the referee to the floor. Masters recovered and grabbed the barstool and hit a PCT in the back with it to get the fast victory.

(6) In a Texas Bullrope Match, Shan Hill defeated “Modern Revolution” Steve Madison (w/Big Bubba Madison).

The rules were simple: to win you needed to touch each turnbuckle in succession. Madison tried to slide out to the floor but Hill dragged him back in the ring where he stomped on the hand Madison didn’t have attached to the rope. BB Madison helped keep Madison from being dragged in a second time and it allowed Madison to get in a gut shot on Hill. Madison backed Hill to a corner where he tried to open up Hill’s forehead with punches. Hill fought back with punches but BB Madison tripped Hill on a rope toss and Billy Dalton ejected BB Madison from ringside. Madison wasn’t happy and he tossed Hill to the floor but Hill got to his feet and tossed Madison into several rows of chairs. The match came back to the ring where Hill got three turnbuckles but Madison dumped him over the ropes. The big problem was Madison’s boots got tangled in the rope and he briefly ended up hogtied. Hill saw this and went up top but he came down on Madison’s cowboy boot. Madison took the fight back to the floor where his piledriver was countered into a backdrop onto the concrete floor. Madison fought back by hitting Hill in the stomach with the cowbell. Back in the ring Madison hit a back suplex and unloaded several right hand punches to Hill’s forehead which opened up a gash. Madison thought he had a win but his move got reversed into a powerslam which allowed Hill to get a buckle. Madison snuck up behind Hill and chop blocked his left knee. Madison wrapped the rope around Hill’s legs and locked in a figure four but Hill reversed it. Madison escaped and dropped an elbow on the knee with the cowbell. Madison went up top to deliver more pain to the knee but Hill grabbed the rope and sent Madison crashing into the ring. Hill’s cobwebs cleared and he realized his head was split open so he smashed Madison in the forehead with the cowbell which split Madison wide open. Hill tapped three buckles but Madison cut off the fourth and once again locked in a figure four style hold. Hill escaped and hit Madison with a German suplex. Hill went for the four corners again, getting three and was close to four when Madison pulled on the rope hard enough to cause it to slide off Hill’s hand. When Hill went for the fourth buckle BB Madison came out and decked Hill with a punch that was loaded thanks to a chain wrapped around his fist. Referee Billy Dalton felt he had no choice but to call for the bell and award the match to Hill.

(7) ACW Heavyweight champion “Rugged” Ralph Mosca defeated “Raging Bull” Eddie Taurus.

This was the first chance Taurus had to get a shot at the man who took the title off him in controversial fashion two months ago and he looked prime and ready. After both men trash talked and traded pie faces to the chin the match began with a flurry of offensive moves from Taurus which made Mosca retreat to the floor. Mosca came back in the ring and traded corner moves with Taurus and got control with forearm shots and an elbow drop for two. Mosca locked in a Bear Hug but dumped Taurus to a corner where he delivered kicks to the chest. Both men traded punches to the jaw but Mosca raked Taurus’ eyes. Taurus paid him back with a powerslam and he went up top where he delivered a flying headbutt. The blow did damage to both men as Taurus struggled to get a two count pin. Taurus went up top again but this time he missed a legdrop as Mosca moved. Mosca got to his feet and hit a Burning Hammer to win. But the fight was far from over as David Mercury and Austin Amadeus hit the ring where they laid out both competitors. Taurus fought off both men but when it looked all clear, he dropped Mosca with a power bomb. Ray Beez came out and saved Mosca from any further damage. After the dust settled Mosca took the house mic and said Mercury would need more than Taurus and Amadeus to take the title off his waist. Mosca told the fans that he was part of the championship committee and challenged any of the trio to a tables match next month.
