Sunday afternoon, May 27th, we kick off our sixth year of live events...and we're rounding up the most diverse cast of players in the universe to make the event unforgettable! This past week, CHIKARA Commissioner Bob Saget paid a visit to Boston for a live appearance on his never-ending stand up comedy tour, but was ambushed by a square-headed autograph hound and would-be-world- conqueror most commonly known as Dr. Cube. Their brief encounter ended in tears, although whose tears were shed, we cannot say. What we can tell you is this - together, the CHIKARA Commissioner and the shadowy figure known as the Kaiju Big Battel Commissioner have come to an agreement. On Sunday, May 27th, the earth-shattering beasts of Kaiju will be coming to the ECW Arena with a mind for large scale property damage and destruction. By official decree of both promotions, Dr. Cube himself must be on hand. We will have all the official details announced by Friday.

"Rey de Voladores" is in the books, and we want to thank the 250 fans that came out to support us and made our April 22 event at the ECW Arena one of the biggest shows in the history of our company! Below, you'll find the results of all 11 matches from Sunday afternoon:

1) DARK MATCH~
Create-A-Wrestler pinned Darkness Crabtree.

2) REY DE VOLADORES: 4-WAY ELIMINATION MATCH~
Chuck Taylor outlasted Ricochet, Pac & Retail Dragon.

3) REY DE VOLADORES: 4-WAY ELIMINATION MATCH~
Lince Dorado outlasted Jigsaw, Ruckus & Equinox.

4) UltraMantis Black & Hydra & Crossbones defeated Drew Gulak & Andy Sumner & the debuting Tim Donst.

5) Larry Sweeney was victorious over Shane Storm thanks to a helping hand from Chris Hero.

6) Fire Ant pinned Lance Steel.

7) The match between Eddie Kingston and Hallowicked was thrown out by Leonard F. Chikarason, when the two participants repeatedly ignored the referee's instructions to get in the ring so the opening bell could be rung. After the decision, Kingston gave Hallowicked an Exploder Suplex off the ring apron to the arena floor.

8) Soldier Ant & Worker Ant pulled off an upset over Joker & Sabian, in spite of Worker Ant being knocked out in mid-match.

9) REY DE VOLADORES: FINAL MATCH~
Chuck Taylor used his Omega Driver to beat Lince Dorado.

10) STIPULATION BOUT/SPECIAL REFEREE - MIKE QUACKENBUSH~
Chris Hero defeated Claudio Castagnoli, and as a result, Castagnoli is back under the control of Hero, and his new partner, Larry Sweeney. After the match, Hero agreed to face Quackenbush in a CHIKARA singles match some two years in the making.

11) CHIKARA's CAMPEONATOS DE PAREJAS~
F.I.S.T. (Gran Akuma & Icarus) retained the titles, two falls to one, over Cheech & Cloudy. Cheech won the first fall with a Jackknife pin on Akuma. Icarus won the second fall by making Cloudy tap out. The deciding fall ended when F.I.S.T. gave a SuperBomb to Cloudy.

This weekend, the boys of CHIKARA roll into South Philly for a live event at the New Alhambra (former ECW Arena). We've got 7 non-tournament matches already announced, and a special bonus match will kick off the show. All this action aside, we've got a mini-tournament for aerialists called "Rey de Voladores."
That same night, we gather together 8 spectacular flyers under one roof. Only one man can win "Rey de Voladores," and in order to do so, he'll have to outlast 3 others to qualify for the finals, and win a singles match later that same day. The two opening round elimination bouts for April 22nd look like this:

MIXED MARTIAL ARTS NEWS
-- A post-fight piss test revealed that Melvin Guillard tested positive for cocaine following his 4/5 Fight Night match with Joe Stevenson. This is just plain fucking stupid. So far we've seen two stoners compete in MMA, guys who don't make weight three months before a title fight and don't make weight for a TV show where 155-pounders are competing and guys doing blow before their matches... recreation is great and all, but god damn these guys know they have a fight coming up and that the commission tests for drugs or that they MUST make weight for a fight... like Ric James said, "that cocaine is a helluva drug!"

-- In a CBS Sportsline interview with Brock Lesnar, when asked how Kurt Angle would do in MMA, he replies: I think Kurt would do rather well in the 205 category, but I think father time has caught up to him rather quickly because of the demand of professional wrestling and what he gave to professional wrestling, and what he gave his body to. I think that he might have a couple of fights in him but ... poor guy, he's given his life and his heart, mind, and soul to be a professional wrestler and he's hurt himself.
Lesnar's spent the last 10 months training and between 265-270lbs., he's trained with Pat Miletich and currently trains at Minnesota Mixed Martial Arts Academy. As far as training with Royce Gracie Lesnar says their schedules are unable to accomodate time to train together but maybe after the K-1 6/2 event at the L.A Coliseum they'll get to train. Lesnar confirms that his K-1 contract is for one fight only and says that Vince McMahon attempted to arrange Lesnar and Kurt Angle to have individual fights with Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson but the boxers nixed that idea.

From there Sokoudjou got into MMA but admits the transition wasn't so smooth: "I thought it would be easy, but it was really hard for me to kind of understand that judo and mixed martial arts are two different things," he said. "I thought, 'I know judo so I can go ahead and judo everybody." Sokoudjou has modest aspirations in this sport: "I would love to say I'm going to get a bunch of belts. Lots of people out there have a bunch of belts, but they suck," he added. "My goal is to put on a good show and make sure everyone who comes and watches me fight is always satisfied."

CHIKARA: All eight participants locked in for "Rey de Voladores" on April 22!

We're gathering together 8 great high-flyers from around the circuit and staging a mini-tournament just for aerialists. Only one man can win "Rey de Voladores," and as of today, the eight combatants are all confirmed. From the United Kingdom comes the man that "gravity forgot," the singular Pac! CHIKARA's own Jigsaw, as well as Retail Dragon will take part in the tournament, and following his impressive showing in March, Leonard Chikarason saw fit to add Ricochet, a Kentucky native, to the mix. Ricochet's frequent rival, Chuck Taylor, went to a draw with Ruckus on our March 23rd show, and now both men have been entered into the tournament. From IWA: East Coast comes Zac Vincent, who competed in the Zero G tournament, and will make his CHIKARA debut on April 22. Last but not least, Juarez, Mexico's own Lince Dorado returns to CHIKARA in the month of April for our event at the ECW Arena. In addition to which, non-tourney bouts will fill up the card:

CHIKARA: Seven of the eight participants confirmed for "Rey de Voladores" on April 22!

Next month, we're gathering together 8 great high-flyers from around the circuit and staging a tournament just for aerialists. Only one man can win "Rey de Voladores," and as of today, seven of the eight combatants are confirmed. CHIKARA's own Retail Dragon is the first man named to the tournament, and following his impressive showing last weekend, Leonard Chikarason saw fit to add Ricochet, a Kentucky native, to the mix. Ricochet's frequent rival, Chuck Taylor, went to a draw with Ruckus on our March 23rd show, and now both men have been entered into the tournament. CHIKARA: Campeonatos de Parejas on the line in Reading, PA!

In just over a week, CHIKARA returns to action, kicking off a loaded weekend in Reading with an event we call "Best Imitation of Myself." Headlining the event will be Jigsaw and Shane Storm - who earned their third and final point toward a title shot at King of Trios - taking on our reigning Campeones de Parejas, Gran Akuma and Icarus (collectively known as F.I.S.T.) In addition to the main event, the Young Lions Cup will be up for grabs, talent from Mexico returns to challenge the founders of Chikara Wrestle Factory, and a boatload of Canucks come south for CHIKARA action. Eight of the evening's ten bouts have been confirmed:
