From the Desk of Tod Gordon: PWU Crazy Upd8 6/16

From the Desk of Tod Gordon: PWU Crazy Upd8 6/16
ProWrestlingUnplugged.com

For the last two years, The Crazy 8 has been the signature event of PWU. Both times the match was fought over a title, with the winner having to retrieve the belt from the ceiling of the arena.

We at PWU have decided that tradition is one that should continue.

Therefore, rather than a tag team grudge match, this year's mega match will be for the Pro Wrestling Unplugged Heavyweight Championship. It will involve
current champion DEVON MOORE, the new fan favorite DETOX, and former PWU Heavyweight Champion, TOO COLD SCORPIO.

Watch the short video on ProWrestlingUnplugged.com showing the past two Crazy 8 matches, and let your imaginations go wild as you picture Scorpio swinging from those ropes and scaffolds as he tries to regain his title.

In addition, our other main event will be what I believe is the first ever tag team IRON MAN MATCH pitting the SAT's and AMIL as they attempt to finally end this war once and for all.

We will be releasing more information later this week regarding other matches, our first ever tailgate party, and the names of some Superstars who will be debuting June 16th.

PWP.com LIVE Recap: Kashmere-Gordon Confrontation; PWU 5/19 7:30 pm

PWP.com LIVE Recap: Kashmere-Gordon Confrontation; PWU 5/19 7:30 pm
ProWrestlingPress.com

ProWrestlingPress.com LIVE Radio is becoming the place for people to expect the unexpected. When Johnny Kashmere tried to dominate PWP, he was confronted by PWU Owner Tod Gordon.

Johnny Kashmere talks down opponent Zack McGuire (who he’s facing Saturday at PWU) and goes after PWP.com co-host Nate Stein.
• John House plugs Kashmere as the first man to bring the Big Japan Junior Heavyweight Title to the U.S. and brings Kashmere on early, to catch Nate Stein off guard, saying that it was time for Stein to apologize.
• Stein didn’t apologize and said he was proud he stood up to Kashmere in-ring last month.
• Kashmere talked about PWU this Saturday against Zack McGuire, saying it will be a beat down, like it was when he defeated Nate Stein last month.
• Kashmere & Stein got into it. After laying into Kashmere, Stein hung up to keep the show going.
• Makes fun of the challenges McGuire has overcome to be in the ring and says he can’t believe the “gaul” of McGuire to believe he can step into
the ring with someone with the experience he has.
• Kashmere talked about how people try to bring him down after he’s the one who builds them up, how he helped to start PWP’s Live Radio, PWU, & XFC. But says nothing can bring him down.

PWU Owner Tod Gordon makes a surprise appearance to confront Kashmere and answers questions about recently released WWE talent coming to PWU!
• Nate Stein returns, bringing PWU Owner Tod Gordon onto the show.
• Gordon confronts Kashmere on why would he pick on the Nate Steins & Amy Lees of the world, why doesn’t he “grow a set” and face the bigger men in PWU like Kwami, Damien Slugga, or other names in PWU.
• Kashmere says he feels ambushed, but it doesn’t matter who is in front of him, he will enjoy this weekend.
• Gordon says he looks forward to the Commissioner Idol winner setting up a Kashmere vs. THE ENTIRE LOCKER ROOM match. Kashmere says he will find
his own candidate to support and take it to Gordon.
• Trash says the Commissioner Idol position is made for him. Gordon asks who Trash would put against Kashmere. Trash immediately says Trent Acid.
• Gordon calls out House for causing trouble with everyone and how he likes to divide and conquer, putting Joker & Reyes against each other, as well as Joel & Jose Maximo…and warns House will eventually turn Acid & Kashmere against each other.
• House asks Gordon with all the recent WWE releases, will we have a surprise this Saturday at PWU? Gordon mentions 2 Cold Scorpio will be there, but mentions you never know, especially with Sabu and apparently RVD now “free” from their contracts.

The PWP LIVE Roundtable brought the latest news from ProWrestlingPress.com:
• WWE Hiring/Firing (Firing Sabu, Rob Conway, Vito, 2 Cold Scorpio, and allegedly RVD. Hiring UK talents Drew Galloway, Murat Bospherous, Stu
Sanders, Sheamus OShaunessy, Chris Chaos, Taylor Phoenix, Hade Vansen, & new writers)
• Jericho with upcoming indy dates (PWE on 6/24 in Martinsburg, WV & MCW on 7/8 in Batlimore) and his possible WWE return
• TNA & NWA finally split, NWA signs with Big Vision Entertainment, while TNA debuts new title belts
• Edge becomes new WWE World champion, wrestling 7 times in last 4 days. What it means for WWE.

Pro Wrestling Unplugged returns THIS SATURDAY at 7:30 pm at the New Alhambra Arena (former ECW Arena), 7 Ritner ST in Philadelphia, PA. What will lead
into the most unique match in wrestling today and a premiere event for PWU with The Crazy 8 on June 19?
* PWU World Heavyweight Title Match: champion Devon Moore vs. Trent Acid
* Anything Goes, Street Fight: All Money Is Legal vs. The SAT
* Johnny Kashmere w/ The Dew vs. Zack McGuire
* Annie Social/April Hunter vs. Amy Lee/Sara Del Ray
* Joker vs. Adam Flash
* Slugga Grand Slam Challenge
* John House’s “House of Unplugged” w/ Z-Barr
* TJ Cannon vs. Bruce Maxwell
* 2 COLD SCORPIO RETURNS TO PWU IN-RING ACTION!
*Also featuring The Thomasellis, The Angus Brothers, Drew Blood, Teddy Fine, Lucky, Nate Stein, Dan Cowhey, Jake Black, & more.

From the Desk of Tod Gordon: PWU 5/19 @ 7:30 pm HUGE Card Announcement, Crazy 8 News, Commissioner Idol, & More

From the Desk of Tod Gordon: PWU 5/19 @ 7:30 pm HUGE Card Announcement, Crazy 8 News, Commissioner Idol, & More

Spring is in the air! It's May and PWU as always is preparing to put together a string of shows that should have wrestling fans talking for some time to come. Before I give you the upcoming card, let me ask that you all check out our web site, ProWrestlingUnplugged.com, where as I write this fans are sending in submission after submission to be a part of COMMISSIONER IDOL! What is Commissioner Idol? We at Pro Wrestling Unplugged take great pride at trying to be innovative. Sometimes it seems like everything in wrestling that can be done has been done. Witness our exhibit # 1, The Crazy 8 match. Scheduled for June, this third annual Crazy 8 match will no doubt be taking this already insane concept to a higher level. Click here to watch a 3 minute video of what I consider one of the most innovative wrestling concepts in many years. I only wish I had thought of it first instead of Johnny "bi-polar" Kashmere. I didn't, so I'll give him his due.

I have, however, come up with Commissioner Idol where I intend, with the help of all of our voting fans, to give the actual job of PWU Commissioner to an actual fan! That is my definition of being a fan friendly and fan interactive federation. You can submit your entries via YouTube, VHS, DVD, or you can show up early in June and our own cameramen will tape you at no charge. Voting will be taking place at both our live events and over the internet. Each month a select grouping of fans who have made submissions will be invited into the ring as their tryout tape appears on our jumbo tron. The audience will no doubt give you instant feedback. When we whittle it down to the final 10 contestants, the true race will be on to see which fan will actually break into the world of professional wrestling without ever having attended so much as one class. Important note: this contest is NOT open to employees of Pro Wrestling Unplugged. It is truly going to be done by the fans, shown for the fans, and WON BY A FAN! For more information regarding this unique opportunity, including rules and guidelines, simply click here.

Now let's get into PRIDE, PAIN, AND PUNISHMENT, Saturday night, May the 19th, at the New Alhambra Arena (formerly known as the ECW Arena) with a bell time of 7:30. Doors will open at 7:00 sharp. The title of this show was actually taken from the mouths of All Money is Legal (AMIL) shortly after the totally unjustified malicious beating they received from THE SAT after their match in April. This went way beyond a wrestling beating and obviously, former favorites, The SAT had some kind of personal vendetta, be it real or imaginary, in their heads. As I sat in my office trying my damnedest to talk Annie Social out of quitting her job as executive vice-president, AMIL literally kicked in my office door and demanded a fight with the SAT. I asked them if they wanted some kind of special stipulation in their title defense, and their response was mostly unprintable, except for a few of their more mild words. Basically, they said "Screw the titles, we want a fight...a street fight...no wrestling clothes...anything goes...this ain't about no damn titles...this is about PRIDE...this is about PAIN...and this will most definitely be about PUNISHMENT!" That's about as sanitized a version as I can offer you fans, but after agreeing to this street fight, I realized that without knowing it, they had just named our May event.

It seems that pride is a recurring theme this month as one Johnny Kashmere was put through his very own barbed wire table by the young up and coming
deaf wrestling star Zack Maguire, a second generation wrestler who hails from Florida. Naturally, Kashmere blamed this all on his demented perception that Zach Gowen and Maguire conspired against him, when in reality it was every man for himself. Therefore it will be Kashmere vs. Maguire leaving Johnny with no excuses. As I mentioned earlier, and parts of this are available to see on our website's YouTube videos, my second in command, Miss Annie Social has resigned her post after being attacked, actually demolished, by women's champion "Primetime" Amy Lee along with that very strange man she carts around her known only as The Mad Doctor. Clotheslines and chairshots added to her meltdown and Annie, who is outweighed by more than double by Amy Lee has enlisted the aid of a new friend. Fresh off of Carmen Electra's Naked Women's Wrestling League pay per view where they became very good friends, Annie has solicited the services of one of the toughest females to ever lace up a pair of boots, April Hunter. Never one to be outdone, and being well aware of Hunter's kick-ass reputation, wily veteran Amy Lee went out and got her own "ringer", Sarah Del Ray. Del Ray, known as one of the toughest women in the business, like Hunter has wrestled all over the world, and we welcome her into the PWU locker room. This one's going to be quite interesting.

Back to our "pride" theme. There is also something known as "false pride". Coupling that with his usual chip on his shoulder, Trent Acid has been telling anyone within the sound of his voice over and over again about the standing ovations he received at The King of Europe tour. He's convinced that with the new moves he picked up on his European tour that he can win back the Heavyweight championship from Champion Devon Moore. Moore has held the title for 9 months and has beaten a virtual who's who of contenders. Both men are vying to be one of the participants in the highly anticipated Crazy 8's match in June, and the winner of this is basically assured of getting into next month's main event.

Last month, Adam Flash pulled a fast one on Messiah and no-showed the event. This month, unfortunately, it's Messiah who can't make it. He sent me the
following e-mail and with his permission, I reprint it:

There really is no easy way to say this so I'm just going to say it. I will not be able to compete against Adam Flash on May 19th. The god's honest truth is that I just started a new job and I am unable to take time off without jeopardizing my position in the company. The fact of the matter is I need to feed my family. As much as I dislike Flash, and would like nothing more than to kick his washed up ass around the ECW arena - I cannot put my hatred toward him in front of the needs of my family. I doubt Flash would have shown up anyway. Hell, he No Showed me last month. However, I will be showing up in PWU on June 16th, Flash. So, why don't you and I beat the hell out of each other then? You better believe I'm not the one who is going to be leaving PWU that night on a stretcher - I need to be at work at 7 am.

William "Messiah" Welch

That was received by the office earlier this week. Flash's cockiness just may be his undoing however, as PWU management has come up with what we deem a most suitable replacement. That man is known simply as JOKER! After getting screwed over by Ricky Reyes last month, the normally unpleasant Joker has actually become even more intolerable to be around, and Flash, I wish you Godspeed as a foul tempered Joker is not something to laugh about.

The Slugga Grand Slam Challenge continues this month, and The Iron Saints, Vito and Sal Thomaselli will return and join their brother Brandon Thomaselli in six man action. Other matches include The Real Pitbull Gary Wolf as his two prized XFC Academy graduates, The Complete Pete Hunter and Aramis will both try and impress their teacher when they square off. Also scheduled to appear are Drew Blood, Lucky, The Angus', and Z-Barr who has requested to appear on John House's in ring segment.

Last, but equally as important, because for the last two years The Crazy 8 has been the hardest PWU ticket to get, we will put them on sale that night, Saturday, May 19th, before they go on sale publicly the following Monday. Just as an aside, besides the amazing main event , we will see the PWU
debuts in June of Eddie Kingston and the return to the arena of Joey Matthews. Again, tickets will be on sale at the building May 19th and they are guaranteed to go fast.

Get those Commissioner Idol submissions in as this company, with it's wealth of talent, is one anyone would want to be in charge of.

Tod Gordon Interview Recap (A Shoot Message To The WWE)

The founder of Extreme Championship Wrestling & the man currently behind Pro Wrestling Unplugged, Tod Gordon, was one of the special guest on this past week's edition (1/15/07) of Monday Night Mayhem (w/The Big Mosh & Blade), which can be heard in streaming audio every week (and live at 9PM ET/8PM CT every Monday night) exclusively on The Monday Night Mayhem Radio Network (www.MondayNightMayhem.com, www.ObsessedWithWrestling.com, www.AllWNYRadio.com, & www.AudioWrestling.com -- your official home of "The Spring Break Incident" Video-On-Demand, featuring former WWE Diva, Stacy Keibler).

The interview with Tod is now available to hear for FREE in Real Audio!

Here are some of the highlights from the interview conducted by The Big Mosh & Blade (courtesy: Mayhem listener, PWUSandman41):

==============================================

PWU’s opening theme song, “We Don’t Die” (by Twiztid) plays to open up the segment. Before introducing Tod to the listening audience, Mosh & Blade broke down the merits of the "old ECW" & the new ECW, and whether or not Sylvester Terkay, Elijah Burke, The Great Khali, & Test could stand up against The Public Enemy, "old-school" Taz, Stevie Richards, & the other classic ECW stars. You be the judge fans! Tod then came aboard, with an immediate message to what himsel (and Blade) called The Insane Clown P*ssies that has to be heard to be believed. Gordon did include a message to all fans, saying that Shaggy Dope of the ICP will be handcuffed to him in the "Cuffed & Cage" match this Saturday night at The New Alhambra Arena!

After congratulating The Mayhem on their fifth-year anniversary (thinking originally they couldn't make it five weeks on the air), Blade & Mosh broke it down for Tod about the "new ECW," as he was "unaware of any of this." A shoot by Tod (on behalf of himself) to those in Stamford, CT reading this interview recap or the interview itself: "F*ck you!" Gordon continued the shoot by stating that the WWE is scared that Heyman could do something great someplace else (he could have any job he wants), and that they are scared to let him go! "WWE got it right, and I got it wrong. They had The Big Show & Lashley, and I had Terry Funk & Sabu -- what the f*ck was I thinking?”

Mosh then started talking about “the future of the new ECW," and asked Tod what he thought about CM Punk losing his first match last week against Hardcore Holly? Gordon went off of Mosh, by saying that if he is going to talk about ECW, then he had better talk about "ECW," and not talk about "the fake ECW," based out of Stamford, CT.

Tod said there’s a new sheriff in town & the new sheriff is Pro Wrestling Unplugged. He then went off on the WWE about how they ripped off of ECW, stole the "Pitbull" name, that the WWE tried to cover up the ECW version of The Pitbulls, and tried to make it look like Jamie Noble & Kid Kash were the only Pitbulls.

Tod was asked by Blade & Mosh about how it makes him feel when fans walk up to him and tell him how PWU is the hottest fed in professional wrestling. Tod says he is not trying to be in ECW, but he is trying to push new superstars in wrestling and is also not trying to insult the fans intelligence. He says that he is trying to re-create a federation that will do those two very things. Flat out, "they are not trying to be ECW."

Tod then released another exclusive on The Mayhem, saying that the tag team match with Joker/Ricky Reyes vs. The SATs' for the PWU World Tag Team Titles would now involve All Monday Is Legal!

Gordon then moved into talking about one of The Mayhem's most recent guests & the former Vice President of World Championship Wrestling, Eric Bischoff. He said that several years back he wanted to use Brian Pillman & Steve Austin in a match -- to which Bischoff said, “If you run in Nashville, TN, I’ll give you Sting & Vader for free” -- because that’s where Bischoff’s competition, Jim Cornette, was running. Tod talked about how unprofessional Bischoff was for asking him to do that.

This Saturday, Ian Rotten faces off with Devon Moore for the PWU World Heavyweight Championship in a scientific match. Tod said that Ian Rotten has never seen a scientific match without using weapons, and that Devon Moore does a lot of crazy flips. Tod shot again on the WWE, this time for not signing Devon -- "for not being on steroids” or big enough." Gordon did go on record by saying "Thank God, because now PWU has him."

Tod Gordon plugged the "Cuffed & Caged" show on Saturday on the corner of Ritner & Swanson streets in South Philadelphia, and then made a joke about how they can’t call it “The ECW Arena” and have to call it The New Alhambra, because the WWE would sue them. Mosh mentioned that V.K.M. can’t sue (a least right now), because at the time of the interview, he was in the ring talking about how good "Rosie O’Donnell vs. Donald Trump" last week on RAW was. Tod jokingly admitted that Rosie vs. Donald was nothing but “great stuff."

The Big Mosh jokingly asked about Johnny Ace or any WWE staff showing up in Philly this Saturday night. Tod interrupted him and said "what if Paul Heyman showed up at the arena this Saturday?" Tod said that him and Paul face-to-face would shoot on the WWE and “get a lot of sh*t out of our systems."

Blade & Mosh asked whom Tod Gordon would like to see in a PWU ring? Tod said that in a few months, we would see The Briscoe Brothers back, Quit Storm, Altar Boy Luke, & other wrestlers back. As a joke, Blade asked would we ever see Jeff Hardy or The Great Khali in a PWU Ring? Tod replied by saying that we could see Jeff if he comes to PWU, but "Khali will never be there if you live to be 1,000." Tod strongly believes that Jeff Hardy would have fit in great with the old ECW.

One of The Mayhem's listeners from Philly asked Tod a question: “You were the founder of ECW many years ago taking over The ECW Arena, and now you are back with PWU over ten years later still taking over that building. What does it mean to you to still be in the same arena over ten years later still giving the fans some of the best wrestling ever?” Tod again went on record, saying thank you for asking the question, and then says that it was not just Philadelphia but it was people in Buffalo, NYC, & all over the country that his companies gave great wrestling to, and it was the help of the loyal fans who made the company what it was.

More goodness is included in this 45+ minute interview with Tod including: a full, in-depth preview of the rest of this Saturday's "Cuffed & Cage" event, some interesting comments on The Spirit Squad, Jason Hervey & Missy Hyatt, a shoot on a particular internet writer (who might want to check out this interview), the complete lowdown on why his soon-to-be-released book/autobiography is now on an "indefinite hiatus," more comments to those in power in the "E," & so much more!

For more information & how to purchase tickets for the highly-talked about PWU vs. JCW "Cuffed & Cage" show (taking place at The New Alhambra Arena), head on over to www.ProWrestlingUnplugged.com & www.MySpace.com/ProWrestlingUnplugged for more details.

In addition, former WWE superstar, former OVW World Heavyweight Champion, & current ROH star, Brent "Gunner Scott" Albright, gave his first interview/public comments since parting ways with World Wrestling Entertainment. Want the real reason as to why Brent was released by the E? Was he fed up with the politics? Does he believe CM Punk's character is heading in a bad direction? Is he a huge fan of "Donald vs. Rosie?" As we say, you have to tune in to find out! All this & much more are answered & asked in this interview, which is also now available for download!
